Just saw this video. Been living/working here, planning to stay now during the winter. Excellent video with good added information and real street sound! Yes, I would say Lisboa is probably the best affordable destination now i western Europe. Still, maybe avoid during the very high season and around new year. Fireworks are nice but also a lot of people here during these days. Rest of the year, esp spring / autumn is great. If you´re lucky you can experience some pretty warm sunny days even in january.

Are there any areas in Lisbon I should avoid?
@POVTours2 жыл бұрын
Hello Janet! 😊 On the outskirts / suburbs yes, but it's very unlikely that you'd find yourself there, as those areas are not touristy at all, you'd have to actually want to go to those places and take specific public transport (or uber), etc. Close to the center, and specifically at night, avoid the narrow side streets near the Almirante Reis avenue. That avenue in itself is fine, a few metro stations there, but not some of the other streets in the area (at night). Prostitution, unsavory characters, etc. Bairro Alto district at night, lots of bars and drunk people, with all the problems they can cause. The alleys and narrow streets of the Mouraria district, at night as well. I'd also avoid the areas near the Bela Vista and Chelas metro stations (red line). Same with the Marvila train station. There's nothing touristy or interesting there anyway. Lots of ugly buildings, most of them public housing, and not much more. Taking that metro line (or train) is safe (to go to Oriente / Parque das Nações, for example), but don't visit those neighborhoods I mentioned, especially at night! And just stay vigilant for pickpockets in crowded trams/buses, especially in July/August. That's when teams of professional pickpockets travel from eastern Europe and target Lisbon, Rome, Barcelona, Paris, etc.
@janetf33772 жыл бұрын

This is the oldest part of downtown Lisbon...sometimes referred to as the old town. This part of L:isbon was built after the earthquake of 1875 that decimated this part of town. Don't believe trees were on their mind at that time. There are many parks and squares in this part of Lisbon!
@josephrego25273 жыл бұрын
Should be 1755.
@POVTours3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is true Joseph. In many streets it's physically impossible to plant trees, not enough space for that These are not modern and broad avenues, these streets were laid out centuries ago. Having said that, even around downtown there are trees being planted. For example, right next to the Praça do Comércio square, dozens of treets have been planted in recent years, they're still small and don't give much shade for now, but give it a few years for them to grow... The area will look a lot greener😊
@luismarques92803 жыл бұрын
Really? It is the core of the city! Did you expect a natural park there? If you want trees go to the Lisbon biggest park: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ3dZn1jaat9j68

What are the most popular jobs in Portugal?
@POVTours2 жыл бұрын
Difficult question... 😊 There are all kinds of jobs here, from industry to all kinds of services, technology, tourism, etc, etc, even agriculture. The easiest ones to find are the ones in the tourism and hospitality sector, things like restaurants, hotels, etc. Always a lot of demand for new employees. The tech/IT sector is also always in demand, if you have the required skills.

is Portugal save for living?? also living n food expenses..and what about job opportunities there?? plz could u tell me..i want to go there with my husband..
@POVTours3 жыл бұрын
When it comes to crime, Portugal has lower crime rates than most European countries. Also, in the Global Peaceful Index (which takes into account many many factors) Portugal has been ranking as 3rd or 4th most peaceful country in the world for the last few years. But this doesn't mean that there's no crime or problems, obviously. Cost of living is probably the lowest in western Europe (with the exception of cars, which are very expensive), but salaries are not as high as some other countries either. The topic of job opportunities would be difficult to answer, it all depends on skills you may have, what you're looking for, languages you may or may not speak, where you're from, etc...
@baalisakeena74753 жыл бұрын
@@POVTours okay im from Pakistan..also i will start learning Portuguese.. also tell me which type of skill i need to learn for job??

It depends on the job. Some jobs require a college degree, for others you'll need a drivers license or computer skills, etc. Impossible to say what each job requires, but speaking Portuguese does help significantly.

@POVTours3 жыл бұрын
Hello Marja! The avenue where the video starts (Avenida da Liberdade) is full of trees on both side of the road, you can't see many of them because I started the video right at the end of that long tree-lined boulevard. Rossio Square also has many trees; along the river, after Comério Square, you'll also see green spaces and trees. Bear in mind that the video focuses mostly on ancient, narrow, streets (unlike Avenida da Liberdade, for example), where planting trees would not make much sense. I don't understand what you mean by "Strange buildings ,like South America", that would be like saying that the historic centers of Paris or Madrid is like South America 🤔 What kind of buildings where you expecting to see?

God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, & murderers, and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith & trust in Him today & please repent.
