What a special treat for me this morning to turn on my computer & find this video waiting for me :) ... I love everything about Portugal's long, important & glorious history & of course the Order of Christ Templars who were - are a big part of it , not only in Portugal's discovery age but even more than that including of course the Reconquista wars against the Moors & so on . I used to believe the knowledge of new land to the west across the Atlantic came from maps found in the Holly Land during the crusades but I'm leaning towards that knowledge actually came from their Allied Vikings who fought along side them in the Holly Land & the Reconquista wars helping Portugal grow in land to the South , it was the same enemy funny enough but of course their worst enemy was the Pope & Vatican Church & the French King & the rats who ratted them out to be tortured & burned at the stake :( .. Templars along with Portugal's many great brave & courage's explorers & Portugal's great Kings who had the backing from the Portuguese people for which without great hard working loyal people nothing else would have mattered .... Very Proud for me to be of this great Portuguese Heritage, that over the years has been very much underrated & purposely disrespected as if it didn't happen or exist , especially by the Vatican, but recently its getting much deserved & over do recognition but not nearly enough yet , not for me anyway. Long live the Knights Templars & the Order of Christ Templars & all our Kings who supported them starting with King Dinis 1 , Dom Afonso Henriques & not only .. Thanks - Obrigado for this fabulous upload amigo - friend :) only being in Tomar in person would it have been better .

@@POVTours I to have Tomar on my list of places to one day end up in , the problem is that there are quite a few great locations - places in main land Portugal & its beautiful islands ( Azores islands , Madeira islands.. ) to choose from , but hey that's a great problem to have :))) .. Good luck to you & who knows we may become neighbors one day over there in Tomar .. Take care & keep up your excellent work, there are many of us far away from our birth places who really do appreciate it :) .

Merci pour m'avoir permis d'assister à cette très émouvante cérémonie, de voir tous ces gens en costume d'époque parader dans les rues de Tomar et terminer en allumant une énorme croix symbole de celle du Temple était très impressionnant, de plus l'église et la ville sont de toute beauté.

Why do so many people confuse the Knights Templar with the Crusaders? It's the Knights Templars who are associated with Free Masons not the Crusaders, which some believe Christopher Columbus was also a Knight Templar.

Здравей Марта! 😊 Рицарите тамплиери все още съществуват, един вид... Военно-религиозният орден, който замени рицарите тамплиери в Португалия, беше Орденът на Христос и този орден все още е активен. Но трябва да направя дълго видео за цялата история на рицарите тамплиери. Предишните видеоклипове, които направих в Томар, са добри, но могат да бъдат и по-добри.
