Amazing explanation. Finally, I can say that I understood what the Ewald Sphere is.

Thank you so much. It gives me such a great help (finally understand what is happening with Ewald sphere, reciprocal lattice points in powdered XRD, and what is the circle I really find in pictures of XRD)

Great explaination! Why do you stop drawing the circles with 23 for the square lattice? Would drawing more give you more peaks? Oh i see - when I increase the k vector length it would give me more
@bgelloz2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Adding circles with larger radii would not give any new peaks because they would not intersect the Ewald circle (orange). Yes, you are right, indeed, increasing k would allow more peaks.

Hello, very great explanation, thank you very much for that. I would like to ask just one question. At the end you are saying to obtain more peaks increase k vector. What's that mean in practice? Change of wave length, electron beam power? Thank you very much.
@bgelloz4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment :). Since k = 2pi/lambda, increasing k means decreasing lambda (wavelength).

i'm a bit confused , the RLV (13) doesnt lie a reciprocal lattice point ?
@bgelloz3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I do not see what the problem is. The circle named 13 does cross the 13 original RL point. For a powder the RL becomes a set of circles. The circle related to the original RL point 13 is shown correctly. The RLV G13 connects the 13 circle to the origin, therefore it is a RLV for the RL of the powder. Hope it helps.

Thank you for the useful comment. I will do my best to improve my language in future videos. As for this one and others already online, I will see if I could fix them by adding subtitles or changing the audio track. Good luck in your studies~

@@bgelloz there is absolutely no need to slow down from my opinion. Its perfectly fine and comprehensible.

@@mommethomsen1040 Thank you for your comment! Glad it's OK for you. Well, In Science, we get used to all kinds of accents and pronunciations, for example in international conferences. It is part of our education to develop such flexibility.
