Wowzers, i am blown away by the capability of this. This will unlock so much for beginners and to make something valuable to them and others in their organisation. Fully expect to see the amount of powerapps explode if it comes to my org and people learn about it.

No doubt many professional Power Platform developers will roll their eyes at this, but it's another example of how AI narrows the gap between beginners and pros.

💯 Agree. This is important for everyone to keep their eye on.

I'm sure this will be a great tool for non-programmers or beginner application developers, and whilst I acknowledge that PowerApps is supposed to be a no-code/low-code application building environment, for those that are looking to develop business solutions that are somewhat more advanced both in UI/UX design and also in structure, Microsoft should spend more time in further developing the user development interface. One of the most frustrating aspects of the development interface, and maybe I long for some similarities to Visual Studio, is the dropdown window to write and inspect the PowerApps code which then obscures the UI being developed. I'm unsure why they can't have the code window as a separate window that can be say open on another screen (most developers today have at least two screens). The other enhancement I reckon would be awesome would be able to step through the execution of the code. One other thing that is missing, is the ability to generate as-built-documentation automatically from the application. I know there is a third-party tool out there, but I've not had any joy getting it to work, again something that should be built into the product. I know these are not things that you can change Shane, but whilst watching another one of your awesome videos, I'm just thinking out aloud 🙂.

In my dreams (as a programmer) there is a full-code option to just work with the source-code of a PowerApp or PowerAutomate flow directly. Like VSCode experience. Now with Copilot on hand that could make it incredibly productive and one would not go n*ts anymore with the no-code/low-code dev interface. Think no-code /low-code building blocks could be unnecessary in the future. Copilot just creates on big block for us.

amazingly powerful, god i wish my IT dept wouldn't be so cheap and let me use Dataverse so i could take advantage of it
@ShanesCows4 күн бұрын
Now what fun would that be if they didn't put up silly road blocks for you? 🤣

Good stuff Shane. Going to go try to put it through it's paces. Wondering how advanced we can get with this :) One thing I wish the automated app creation would do is allow us to enter a template of naming convention for controls. Otherwise we spend hours going through and renaming every control

Yeah, I think they have heard that request a lot. 😎 Probably a good sign

This type of AI is what will help save a lot of time at the beginning of a project. It helps to build those requirement/proposal documents that are needed for the customer to agree to. That is the part that I have so many issues with as I love to design and code but I do not like the proposal/role development, requirements part. Most of us have to wear many hats and do not have the luxury of having full time staff that handles the documentation. I wonder if it can also write documentation on how a user would interact with the system, use cases, etc.

All great thoughts and ideas. I too would like to see it output documentation, that would be cool.

Great stuff again Shane! Is it clever enough to understand "I don't want a Model Driven App", or easy to remove the suggestion?

Are the roles defined at the beginning also integrated into the solution, for example, within the app to ensure certain features or data are not visible based on the role? Or is this not implemented yet?

I am not sure. I know Public Preview is coming in the next few weeks (December most likely) but not sure I know when GA is. 🤔

I see some value in this eventually. But at the moment, its just a clever marketing ploy to help Microsoft sell additional licenses to non-technical executives.
