This video was very helpful, One Question: Just like the way we filtered text columns, is there a way we can filter choice type columns using Starts with function? Meaning I don't want to create additional dropdown filters, I want the filtering to happen on the search box, and it has to filter text as well as value(dropdown values).

I changed the text input from .Text to .Value and it started to work, i am working off a sharpoint list to. Filter(PostProjfile, StartsWith(Description,SearchTxt.Value)) I am also using powerapps on Teams, maybe that has something to do with it. I noticed my text box does not have as many options, i cant set the radius or anything.

Hi, With most respect, please note the this last bit on using "in" doesnt work if the data has more than delagable limit of records for filters. It will only work if after applying all the possible filters , the searched records are equal to delegable limit. Otherwise it wont. This Video is 1 years old. If anything new came in between , which we can leverage to make Search effective on SPL. Please guide.

In is not a delegable query as mentioned in video. Idea is to filter data so it falls within delegable limits and then perform IN function. The technique showcased in video is a real world scenario and has been working for a customer now for years.

For example, my Title column has 3 values in 3 rows with Test1 on first row, Test2 on second row, and Test3 on third row. Works well as long as you are okay with the default sorting which is oldest to newest. I want to display newest to oldest, so when I put in a sort function, the gallery will only show the oldest 500 rows.

@@vanitaji Uploading large files in power apps is not an option. It has limits. For searching inside files, you would need to use search api assuming you are storing files in SharePoint.

Since a couple days ago, every time I try to update an app, it shows a black screen when trying to run it. So I have tried creating a new one from scratch and as soon as add one button (not adding any database, SharePoint list, or library) and publish it, it comes black screen again. just if the canvas is completely empty, is when shows the app. Do you have any idea about it?

Top Reza, the combi of filter and search; did not think of this before. Still Microsoft should give us the delegable 'in' operator for SharePoint 😊 (missing that so much on >8K lists) ; must be easy as the SharePoint underlying database is SQL Server. Probably Microsoft wants to keep a distance to the SQL connector ... but that is under premium license 😒. Gr. Lex

And the question is why is it not desirable to make a limit of 2000 lines? 3. do I understand correctly that if there is less than the entered limit, for example 2000, the filtering function will show all the values searched for through the search bar

1 - if less than 2000 items, then you can directly use Search function. 2 - Since all those 2000 records will be loaded in memory in your Power App. 3 - same as point 1. If you have less than 2000 records, you can avoid delegation.

Hi Reza, what if there were 10,000 tasks and I have already indexed columns? Would this have gone past 2k and it could bypass the 5,000 threshold in SPO?

Search is not a delegable function. The first limit you would hit is 2k in power apps irrespective of indexing.

Hi Rezza, I have become a big fan of your videos, I have been developing my very own app to upload documents; there is this one feature that I am struggling to achieve. I have two share point lists, one of which allows the user to enter details and upload attachments, the other share point list, lists a library of all the required attachments that are needed to be uploaded. There is this one column on the main share point list which is defined as a choice function. The user is allowed to select in powerapps. The second SharePoint list has its title (in text format) which is the same replica as of the combo box (from the main SharePoint list) and it has two other columns (multiple lines text) listing all the required attachments. I would like to use the combo box info from my first share point list to filter the data on my second share point list and display the relevant multi line columns to the user. Would I be able to achieve this using the methodology explained in this video?

Hi Reza, How do I filter a table from a guid/lookup colum from a different table with an equivalent of "Not In" operator? Example There are three tables OOTB tables in D365 Field Service. Opportunity Name: ABC Opportunity Product Opportunity: ABC Product: 1 Product: 5 Product: 10 Product: contains 1 - 10 What kind of Filter syntax to show a list of products that are not in the opportunity ABC? Meaning, the result should return product 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Hi Reza, thnks for everything you do to help us navigate the Power Apps complexity. I am not using a gallery for and not using SP Integration. I can connect to my list but my form properies does not have "Items" it has "Item". Right the edit form shows "Item" and uses First('Office Supply Products') to show the data. Your gallery shows "Items" so I must be missing something. Can you provide any direction? Thanks again!
