Power Automate - Create Teams and Channels

In this video we will create a SharePoint List to track an approval process for creating new Teams and Channels. The SharePoint item will trigger the flow and an approval process will begin. If the approval has been approved, flow will create a Team and two Channels and notify the requestor via email. Useful if you want to track available Teams in a SharePoint list.

I'm glad I found this video! I'm currently setting this up to create new channels only however I need to be able to make them private channels or shared channels which doesn't seem like I have the option to do. Would your graph api method work in this flow? Suggestions?

Hi, yes private channels are still not an option. Its been so long and nothing yet. Only way for now is to try the graph API solution on my other video. Sorry

Great video, thanks! Unfortunately the flow is running without errors, however, when I look at the Team Name created when testing, I see as Declined after it runs. I get the email and all. I click on approve either via email or on Teams, but it doesn't complete.

I got it. Approved vs Approve on Condition 3. A simple 'd' made all the difference. Found it while debugging like you did. Thanks for helping me create my first flow. Cheers.

@@Enea I am wondering what should I use to build a script/several lines of code, based on lists that will retrieve data from excel spreadsheets and import them onto scripts commands. Currently using concatenate excel command in 100 lines of code. Convoluted. Perhaps by creating a list and adding a the main keyword, which would go out there and retrieve the dar. Main question is. What should I use to put it all together and output the lines for the scripts based on the single entry user plugs into one list. Ideas?

how about Power Automate Desktop? You cannot automate the triggering without Premium, but with the free version you can set everything up and are one click away of bringing everything to life. Just an idea.

@@Enea Got it. Yeah, the ‘trigger’ would be the only info the user would have to enter, perhaps when using an input on the list, the way you did on the video. My question was mostly on the script lines. Is Excel still the best solution to bring it all together? User enter Three letters (specific per site), List goes on a database (Excel - unfortunately - does a vlookup or index/match) brings back a few columns worth of information to that list. OR Not, just sends it to Excel and everything is done there as it currently is with all the CONCATENATES managing strings… that’s what I was wondering what other solution to ‘create’ the scripts’ lines merging variables and static text would there be.

Thanks for the video. Quick questions: 1. Is the Team created a private team or public (to origanizational users)? I want to create private teams. 2. Have they added the support to create private channels yet? 3. Is there any option to create a Team using the existing template (that has private channels)?
