Hi, it seems you don't have the connectivity to the Oracle Server. Some immediate action you can take is to talk to your DBA Team to ask them open the firewall to your laptop/server. You can check the connectivity test guide from Part 3 of the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJCwnKZogqdnfdk Alternatively, you can submit a ticket to Power BI Official Support team for additional help and deep dive! admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/newsupportticket/powerbipro Hope this information helps!

@@fishleaf Thanks a lot Mathew for your reply The issue of connectivity was because I was trying to use the 2nd way recommended by you (by putting the host ID: Port/ SID), my database also had SSL CERT configured , hence was unable to connect this way. However was able to connect using the 1st method which checks the wallet credentials. Coming back to the 2nd method, tried adding the SSL parameter to the string, but was unsuccessful as power BI does not accept strings greater than 128 characters , is there a way to handle this ? Also once connected the speed of Oracle data import is really bad, any settings I need to change Your help is highly appreciated

@@parvindersingh7152 For your first question, unfortunately it might be a hard limit which we can't bypass. In this case, I would stick with TNS name way which is working! Maybe you can try to switch the CNAME to the Scan IP instead to reduce the word count -- this might not work well. For your 2nd question -- I had the same complain since 6 years ago!! Please see my original post on the community community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Very-Slow-Oracle-Connection-Speed/td-p/72510 It seems there are some "cooperate battle" or technical issue and Oracle and Microsoft can't work together to have the best user experience. My suggest is to make sure my Gateway Server or Local Desktop is in/as near as the same network (data center, AZ, or at least region) of the Oracle DB to at least achieve lowest network latency and gain some speed. Hope this helps!
