Hi, thank you for the tutorials. This is my 2nd I am replicating from your channel as practice for interview. I am using mysql as I could not set up the server process for sql mgmt studio. In mysql many functions are either changed or not functioning so i got stuck at DATENAME query at 46:30. Solved this step today with DAYNAME, str_to_date and coalesce, as the order_date column was imported as text by default and the date data is formatted in 2 different ways: d/m/y and d-m-y. if someone is interested, this is the query: SELECT DAYNAME(coalesce( str_to_date(order_date, '%d-%m-%Y'), str_to_date(order_date, '%d/%m/%Y')) ) as Order_day, COUNT(DISTINCT order_id) AS Total_Orders from pizza_sales GROUP BY Order_day ORDER BY Total_Orders DESC

Nice video, very informative however I fail to understand why we need to use sql for this exercise. I thought we would use the formulas created at the beginning of the video in SQL while creating the dashboard in powerbi but we didn't do that. I wonder why do we need to go through that exercise instead of uploading a cvs file into powerbi directly and saving time by doing that ?

Whenever you are asked to build a project or dashboard in any tool you always have to validate your results shown in the dashboard. The results shown in dashboard are garbage in and garbage out, meaning it shows anything you want, how will you and client know the values are correct. It is always a best practice to test the report you build by firing SQL queries to database and validate the reports. This is explained in the video well

@@Kishormurade02 SQL databases are more suited for handling large volumes of data with complex querying, transformation, and real-time access capabilities, while Excel sheets are useful for smaller datasets, manual analysis, and simpler reporting tasks.
