Ghost got what deserve. I'm probably one of the few that didn't like him . Ghost was the only one who cause everything. his family break up, his kids, his wife and his best friend. He was about what every mad him happy. He only look out for hisself first. I said in season 3 his son would be the one who kill him. I thought that because of how bad he treat his wife that always had his back and children whom he neglected. And as far as he want out drug gang he was full of shit because ever time something happened he go right back to selling drugs and when his his wife tried to move on and be legit he kill the man that lived and respected her. His bitch ass want angie but he want to keep tasha for just in cast selfies bitch ass glad his son took him out

Used to REALLY hate the ending. But now after rewatching the whole series...it makes the most sense. There's an undertone of "symmetry" between Ghost's and Tariq's stories. Even the titles of the pilot episode and the final episode (Not Exactly What We Planned vs Exactly What We Planned) make it sound like the outcomes were ordained to happen because Tariq is literally Ghost's son, regardless of the environment: growing up in the hood vs growing up priveleged. Tariq killed Ghost because he truly was a reflection of Ghost: 1. Young Ghost killed Breeze because he didnt want Breeze dictating his moves or controlling his life plans...Tariq kills Ghost because he didnt want to go to school just because his father wanted him to; he had other plans. 2. Young Ghost gave Breeze one more chance before killing him since he did care...Tariq revisits Truth to ask Ghost if he should really turn himself in to the cops; That "one more chance". 3. Ghost is extremely resourceful and calculating...Tariq is also. 4. Ghost will lie to protect himself, his family or the business to hide his plays for a better life...Tariq lies whenever there's a threat to his hustling scheme. 5. Ghost's father warned him about getting out the Game before it's "too late" but Ghost didnt listen...Tariq is still hustling, despite Ghost warning him. 6. Both Ghost and Tariq betray Kanan; someone they looked up to. 7. Ghost spares Maria Suarez's life twice even though she had dirt on Tommy...Tariq saves Elisamarie's life twice from Tommy even though she had dirt on Tommy. 8 Choate plays some role in Ghost and Tariq's upbringing. 9. Julio, under Ghost's protection, is still killed by the Game bs...Raina, under Tariq's protection, is killed by the Game bs. 10. Both Ghost's dad and Tariq's dad (Ghost) own nightclubs....There are other examples I'm sure.

Theres also another way to analyze ghosts demise. Kanan was always the factor. From bringing him up to the day he was convicted. His business was taken from him and his thoughts went from taking his business back only to taking jis business back and ruining ghosts life and that of his family's, since thats what ghost, pretty much did to him. When he got out he pretty much knew shawns mind was shaped by ghost when he came under his wing. When he failed ghosts hit (the final test) kanan took out his own son. Then as soon as he saw tariq was in a bad relationship with his dad, he used it to his advantage, and he took advantage of tariqs notable yearn for the truth and dropped it all about james, leading tariq to get mad about his lack of closure to the family he was raised in, causing him to hate ghost even more. As soon as his lack of trust for ghost grew, he saw kanan as a real father figure, because he was a realist, which is the type of person Tariq wanted to look up to. When ghost got out of jail, he was still consumed by the thought that tariq was gonna learn to like him again one day, and this he was still his father, even though kanan pretty much destroyed the chance of that happening, he turned tariq to him the same way ghost turned shawn to him. Kanan still came as a mentor into bringing tariq to the life, and showed him how the business worked, turning ghost away from him even more, to a place where tariq had a hate for ghost. Even as soon as kanans plan was working, tariq set him up to die which pretty much set the illusion that k's run was over. He waa even disappointed in him, but let him live because he saw him as an actual son. Ghost even still thought tariq would turn himself away from the life that the only person he looked up to showed him, but he was fully poisoned. All though season 6, he wanted ghost dead. He really did give ghost the final test when he asked him when he wanted to turn him in, and ghost said it was for the family, still not getting it in his head that tariq was no longer family, and shouldn't be trusted any more. Tariq finally cought him slippin, since ghost never thought his own "son" would be capable for pulling a gun on him. Which meant kanan won the whoke series in a way. His plan was to kill ghost and he did it perfectly. If he wasn't gonna do it himself, he would get his heir to do it for him. The people who think the ending was trash really missed out on alot.

Well articulated, masterfully summarized, and nostalgically refreshing. However, the eloquent can never negate the evident.... The show runner (Courtney Kemp) admitted on the final ‘Power: Confidential’ that Tasha was to be the sole survivor of the show from the beginning. She let it be known her writing was skewed to exhibit Ghost’s inconstant temperament and perceived flaws of character in the final 3 seasons. Rudy let me say this: your historical examples on Ghost are amazing. My only point of difference is you not giving Ghost credit for the massive good he did for those he loved. In the words of Omari Hardwick, Ghost was a “Man breaking good from bad.” Nobody should have been surprised Ghost died, he was a cold hearted killer after all. However, I can’t accept the people he was trying to save most would be allowed to kill him. Then given a show....who wants to watch a privileged kid breaking bad from good. Ghost’s fate wasn’t depicted in a manner consistent to the overall story. Be easy fam!

Brilliant analysis! I would just like to add my feelings in regards to the final conclusion of the show. In my opinion, ultimately it was weak, unnecessary, and disappointing! Let me explain. I have no issue with Ghost dying at the end for the simple fact that it was expected because of its predictability. The drug dealer or bad guy that wants to go straight dying at the end as punishment for his past sins is a common theme that we've seen before. I must say though, there were brilliant and original ways to end this without having him die but thats another discussion. Back to the point! The problem with using Tariq as the instrument of Ghost's final demise was that it was forced and just didn't add up! It was obvious that the writers were very much aware of this fact, which is why they had to turn the final episodes of the series into a 5 part gimmick! This was done out of desperation because they had nothing there in terms of story. In other words there was no strong enough reason for Tariq to commit such an extreme and hideous act but because that's what they wanted, they created a reason out of thin air!! In essence the only choice they had was to manipulate(insult the intelligence) of the audience. They created a fictional character perspective where the Ghost of 6 seasons was thrown out the window. A new Ghost emerged based on everyone's perspective. The new Ghost was an out of control drunk who was emotionally and physically abusive. A Ghost who had no feelings towards his family, and made them feel threatened for their life and safety. This poor and unnecessary gimmick was created by the writers because if they followed the real storyline to persist, then Tariq would be seen as an evil psychopath who who maliciously killed his father for his own selfish reasons. Who would want to support a spinoff based on that? So Tariq had to be turned into a weak, abused, scared kid who was in fear of his life from his father. In contrast Ghost was made into an evil, maniacal man who was abusive to his family. They made Tariq's and Tasha's "perspective" episode(series finale/episode 15) almost the complete opposite of Ghost's episode(episode 10). The audience/fans felt cheated and rightfully disliked the ending a great deal. There were far more effective and satisfying conclusions that could have been used rather than what we got. Now they'll have to force the storyline in the spinoff in order to make Tariq at least a semi likeable. SMDH

@cstc1235 4 жыл бұрын
would’ve made more sense if tasha did it she was plotting the whole season and she had a few reason too. and it would’ve made tariq a more likable character for a spinoff if he was tryin to stop tasha too and realize what ghost has done for him. like if u switch tasha and tariq and had tariq waiting in the car

"there was no strong enough reason for Tariq to commit such an extreme and hideous act" THIS. This right here. The story was lackluster and the Ray Ray angle was weak. Tariq killing Ghost could have been brilliant. Where they messed up is focusing too much on Ghost and Angela and not Ghost's crumbling relationship with Tariq. It was poorly developed and It felt shoe horned. They should have made Ghost more ruthless throughout the series and Tariq more sympathetic but in the end, Tasha and Tariq looked worse than Ghost.

Ghost was a man whose every step was towards obtaining a legitimate life for him and his family, but consequences of his action where steep. And the consequences where due to his own hand, as well as those he held dearest. As that was his demise.

I love how he tried to patch things up with Tasha, and repair his family, but tasha didn't want him, so watching book 2 where Tariq cries about the shattered family, you feel like giving him a blank stare, since he tried even though tasha didn't. Tasha only wanted him to do illegal shit, but yet also wanted a safe life for her family 😑😑🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️, tariq stayed getting into trouble, thus causing a unrepairable rift between the two, Ghost was the perfect depiction of a flawed but complex character that had a tragic ending
