A major factor that significantly influenced me when I first started with EUC's is portability. I use wheels for work and commuting, the ability to put the wheel on a truck seat and belt it in is just a huge plus.

Awesome video man, keep it up! :) The main and most important benefit of EUC for me is the insane portability. You can buy 16inch EUC, which is really portable, but still has huge batery, huge power and 70km of range. The tire is covered with plastic shell so noone cares about it, looks almost like a luggage so you can take it anywhere with you. You can't do that with power scooter and let outside something so expensive is not a good idea.

@Inspired Introvert By coincidence, I’m actually selling my truck and getting an EUC upgrade soon. I’m not going to use it for pizza delivery but will be taking it overseas for travel. Pre-Covid, the electric scooter and EUC use in San Francisco was taking off swiftly. The scooter rental market was severely reduced in the past year but I think that the resurgence of EUCs is likely to be stronger than before, if the learning curve becomes more accessible and market growth becomes more organic and less advertisement driven. Who knows, I might even replace one of my mountain bikes with an EUC as they’re too nice for riding in the city without worrying about theft.

I’m just wishing I could get a Sherman with a sophisticated suspension like the S18, and I’m willing to wait. I was hoping that the v12 would be suspended but not yet. 🤔

U missed 2 important measurements 1 - ease of use for new riders, such as how long will it take for a new rider to safely use on the road at safe and excessive speeds. 2 - What is the max rider weight. Can the rider carry a 50kg pack on their back. Also you can go into shops with a scooter it's smaller footprint than a trolley?

Other than waterproofing, I'm in agreement with all. (Some) Euc has openings in the body against the wheel for cooling... trolley handle openings with no drains... sunk in power buttons on top with pooling areas... speakers that aren't sealed... On scooters, everything is sealed in a box that u stand on. Screws holding the box together are rubberized. Wires mostly in the frame. So, u don't have to take it apart to see the water resistance. Other than that, spot on review.

Great video. Certainly love your content! For me, I enjoy riding the larger scooters as it brings a motorcycle dynamic to the table. I find it interesting and near limitless in efforts to "master or perfect" riding them in so many environements. The leverage in which the handlepole offers, changes the control aspects immensely at different speeds, coupled with the foot positioning allowing for triangular loading situations simply changes everything as you ride the scooter. I'm certain the EUC is also very technical with its riding idiosyncrasie as well. Maybe one day soon. Until then, I have my hands full on the bars of a very fast Phaeton👍

I personally like the scooter for when I want to transport something. You can put a small compartment on the stem, and you can strap a small container at the base. With a less powerful scooter, doing groceries is also easier. The EUC, on the other hand, is better for pure commuting and fitting into public places like convenience stores. As for powerful escooters, a great modifier is a steering dampener. That actually allows you to steer with one hand. Steering is mainly achieved by countersteering and/or leaning one direction.

Clearly one of the most important categories is safety... and clearly breaks are THE MOST IMPORTANT thing when it comes to safety... the fact that the EUC has ONE break which will fail when the motor fails or runs out of power makes it way more dangerous than a scooter which has at least two breaks which will work independently. Some even have a re gen break which makes it three breaks working independently. This video is made by someone who obviously has a bias towards the EUC. Here's the truth... you will find bigger, smaller, faster and break bones before you're able to ride it. Bias is the enemy of truth...

To add to what you're saying I've heard them complain about the EUC hurting their legs it can be painful to the legs especially if you don't have those pads I know this is comment is 2 years old but a lot of stuff that he talked about then scooters has caught up with EUC now there are some that charges in less than 8 hours there are some that have bigger batteries which you won't be able to add to the EUC because of the size until they make battery smaller so technology has caught up with the scooters to make it a better playing field all out top speed you get the top scooter in the top EUC the scooter will beat it.

Good review but from an emergency point-of-view I really don't think you can compare a uni-cycle with an e-scooter. You will not have time to brake as quickly as an e-scooter and will provide much better all round protection (granted not that much more at speeds around 70 km/h). Your legs will also get a lot more tired on a uni-cycle than on an e-scooter. Don't get me wrong I love the look of them and definitely wouldn't mind one but they really are a niche market and I highly doubt they will become legal in countries where we are already struggling to get e-scooters legal. I also love the uni-cycles form factor compared to e-scooters. Great video though but for me, especially at my age, I will stick with e-scooters. :)

This was December last year and I'm still not 100%, and still going to the chiropractor for lower back pain from the accident. At the end of the day when you have an accident at any speed above 10 mph it doesn't matter what electric vehicle you're using, your body will hit the ground and the more protective gear you wear the less hurt you'll get.

I would not agree with your safety rating. Although I would agree that a scooter _feels_ safer… before you actually kiss the road in uncontrollable fall. ;) I think there is a huge safety-related difference between EUC and scooters (along with bikes). EUC falling process is more controllable, EUCs are less dangerous to rider when falling, EUC rider pose is safer for falling. The process of falling down on EUC is, in most of the cases in my experience, is stepping down from pedals at some speed without any obstructions in your way having your arms ready to assist you in balancing and falling. If it's low speed, you will end up just be running. If it's high speed, then, while you're flying forward, your EUC will not be connected with you (it's almost always going in other direction than you). In the case of bikes and scooters, you have a big heavy chunk of mass connected with you, and your pose isn't allowing your just step down from your riding platform of choice-you almost always will end up falling down, and to make things worse, some parts of your bike/scooter are positioned in front of you and on the trajectory of your fall, which will make your fall less controllable and more dangerous (since you are more likely to crush onto you bike/scooter parts). Also, as I don't _feel_ safer on EUC (even if I know that it's safer), I stay more alert on the road, which adds to safety. Having experience with bikes, scooters and EUCs, I understand why EUC may look more dangerous to newbies, and I'm curious why EUCs are not considered as safer vehicles by experienced people.

Bike or e-bike, e-scooter, EUC - the latter is the most unforgiving with driver error. One small mistake (due to poor judgement, low visibility or whatever reason) and the consequences could be severe. 50.000km on bike since 2006. 3.600km on e-scooter since 2018. 3.000km on e-bike since 2019. All of them in urban traffic. 850km on EUC since sept. 2020, of which only 15km in traffic. I realized I'm asking for trouble and I sold it.

Imho you should notice that braking system on euc is only electronic, is electronic fail you just fall, scooters got usual 1-2 mechanic brakes + electronic, so in emergence cases is safer
@grihoriko8800
@grihoriko8800 3 жыл бұрын
I can say that despite EUC can fail on the electronic side, most scooters usually fail on the mechanic side. I saw a lot of cases when someone broke a suspension or suspension fork, or something fell off. Even I had the situation where my scooter's steering axle broke and I almost lost my handlebar during my ride. And I think there are much more cases of scooters mechanic fails that led to a crash than EUC's electronics fails. Not to mention that EUC riders are usually way better equipped (helmets, wristguards, knees, etc) than most of the scooter riders because scooters give the false feeling of security.

Try different pumps. I have 2 Sherman's. Depending on what hosw you're using it'll work just fine. For example I found this cheep but effective mobile pump works best for me EUC's. www.amazon.com/dp/B019V1PW92/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_582W9ZC19GTJ8978Q06A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

EUC rider is full tuck in the acceleration and top speed test, full squat in the braking tests, putting in maximum effort. The guy riding the scooter is standing completely vertical with no tuck or kick off at all, and when braking has near zero throw out or squatting, putting in almost no effort at all. ...and the scooter still returns better results in both categories.

I started with a Lectric XP and that was fun for a few months. Then a got a Thunderbolt Lightening+ (Zero 10X) and it was fun for a few months. Then I got a V11 and it has been so much fun that the other two are collecting dust in my garage. It's been over 6 months and more fun every time I ride it!!! Maybe time to sell the bike or scooter and put it towards another unicycle. Hands down unicycles are more fun to ride than the others. That's my opinion though.

Scooters just look like such old fashioned tech now, the only reason you need 2 wheels is just for fore-aft balance, and the only reason you need handlebars is for steering and acceleration control. An EUC replaces all that with tech in a much smaller and more efficient package thay frees up your hands, less to break, and easier to transport. Why would anyone get a scooter? Maybe just for carrying 2 people?

I would instead choose a high-speed e-scooter, high-speed EUC is more dangerous. This is my experience. EUC doesn't have a handlebar, so you need more balance. E-scooters have a handlebar so it feels safer. I have both a high-speed EUC and a high-speed E-scooter. My max speed on EUC is 35 km/h. My max speed on the E-scooter is 75 km/h.

I've always been shocked to see how mammoth in size a 'power scooter' is. And in weight. It would be nice if more scooter makers offered a decent set of full hydraulic brakes and a throttle without a hair-trigger response. If the throttle were more easy to modulate, it would not be as necessary to switch between modes. In my experience, there really isn't much of a learning curve for a scooter. Just hop on and go. The EUC, for me, required a lot of practice. It was like learning to ride a bike all over again. At 60. Not a walk in the park, but worth it.

Is it possible that the tires of the Wolf King just don't have as much traction on these stones, not as much as the EUC wheel? On pavement it might do better?
@upcycleelectra8311
@upcycleelectra8311 3 жыл бұрын
Hi your right about the traction & grip, the unicycle has 4 Major advantages over any scooter .. firstly its Designed to climb, geared low speed Torque the big wheel is a massive advantage plus the riders full body weight is over one Axle keeping it planted. Add to this unicycles got real Rubber tyres where scoots have Synthetic (plastic one ) no grip.. its a no brainer really 👍

Yup me also.. both the warrior & wolf king aint the best at climbing from a standing start becoz there are geared for mid/ Top range speed, plus the long wheelbase dont help but with a rolling start they pull like a tank & whip anything in there design class on or off road. There dozens of things the king can do what the U C cant but thats not the impartial image adam wishes to project 😉

EUC is harder on the legs, if you get into trouble on a scooter I feel you have more of a chance to manoover out of it. Fail of EUC could mean death. Failure of electronics of a scooter shouldnt be a big issue. So IMO scooter is better due to safety and over rides euc benefits unless I was using EUC just at low speeds where falling wouldn't be too bad. I also dont like the wolf king cause it seems a bit obnoxious to ride around on the path. EUC seems more acceptable for path riding.

I just hate that the euc you need so much protective gear plus you really have to have great body control and balance. I have terrible balance. I think I’d destroy the ecu before I got the hang of how to ride it. It also seems you have to be in great shape to ride it lol. I couldn’t even get the hang of those hoverboards.
