@@nicoleletchworth1548 ohh. This is my first experience with PH. I have no idea it was different. I like tutor mode now that my child doesn't have to re-watch all of them from the beginning. I'll give it a try for a couple months and go from there.

I am part of the FB group and we never used tutor made last year. However- that response was completely unprofessional! This one thing has made me reconsider using them this school year! In fact we haven’t started yet bc I’m not sure where to go from here. Ending our year last year, I finally saw the value in tutor mode when my 1st grader had to go through 5 lessons on counting to 20- he already knew how yet we were forced to go through each lesson. It was torture for us both! Tutor mode would have been great in this case to skip these lessons bc he knew the is already! I can’t see how 70% is passing yet the “vectored learning” wasn’t able to identify that he knew this concept! He made a 100 on the practices and finished in less than a minute yet still had to do them all. Now tutor mode is back but they can’t redo tests- I thought I was the teacher in my home and I got to make that call!!

It may still work for your family. I just personally don't like the way the company handled things and with the program, I don't like not being able to pick where my child starts or repeating videos as many times as we need.

We were going to use PH next year but after what they did I can’t do it. I found funcation academy through the whole ordeal and we have decided to go with them!!! I’m super excited! Amy has been amazing!

When I pulled my son from ps in February, I was basically deciding between PH and Miacademy. I'm so glad I went with Miacademy. I'm so sorry about all the problems this has caused, especially in states that have to report.

I did the exact same thing but thinking about funcation. We switched in February as my son hated it, but he is not retaining the info good with miacademy but we finished the year with it.

I do homeschooling here in MD and we have the choice to do classes online like you was, go through our BOE or we can be the teacher and pick all curriculum and we go through someone that is working with the BOE they check your child's work and reports to the BOE to let them know how your child is doing. I hope all works out for you and you family. I know homeschooling can be a job in itself then having to deal with what you are going through. ❤

Hi, thank you for your post. I just signed in to PH and was able to turn on TUTOR Mode. was very happy about that. I know your video was done some time ago, so l9oks like they put it back. I know it was a qute a horrandeous experience to find all your kids work disappear. I really like PH we have done it in the past. But they way they acted in this situation makes me think twice if i want to pursue with them. I really like about them is that they have good videos explaining the topics. I undsrstood people like Miacademy and time4lesrning do you know by any chance of they use videos like PH? Thank you.

Yes, we definitely loved the content in power homeschool, just didn't trust their business practices after all that. We ended up going with Time4learning and we love it! It has great videos as well. Just came from your older PHS video because of the YPA book lol i watched that so many times and didn't even notice! That's a great idea! I'm bummed about PHS because i was gonna use it for my kids next year! Still might though. They'll be in 1st, 5th, 6th, and 7th

Lol! Yes, for some I think it will still work fine and the content is great! We did choose something else for social studies because they mentioned some biblical events and I didn't want a curriculum teaching that for me.

Wow, I can't imagine how angry I would be if I were you. While I don't have any children, I did used to work for a home school and I have to say... If the CEO is so condescending about Tutor mode and how everyone is cheating, why the heck would he have ever offered it to begin with? I would look into contacting the school and asking about the percentage of work completed in each class and ask for those records. I feel like it has to be a state law that they KEEP records for a certain amount of time. (Not just erasing it willy-nilly) I don't know. I think I'd definitely dig around more, this is SO fishy. Sending you all wishes for a positive resolution.

So sorry, I just saw your comment. As far as I know this is still the case. They have a Facebook group for parents and the people in the group that decided to stay with Power Homeschool are super helpful and I'm sure they would be able to answer any current questions.

Homeschool laws vary by state. The best thing to do would be to check the laws for your state to make sure it will qualify.
