@@martinaguilar5905 You state: "Anything electric fails regardless of age." Does it? It seems to me that the same criticism might be leveled at ANY system, mechanical, electric or chemical. While I share a dislike of top-down social engineering, requiring that all vehicles sold in the state be non-polluting is not that. Fuel-cell vehicles exist, for example - they are zero-emission vehicles that do not depend on the power grid. To my thinking, battery-powered cars are a stop-gap - just a step along the way to a fully zero-emission fleet. We will eventually have to eliminate the burning of fossil fuels - or perish.
@martinaguilar59054 сағат бұрын
@@omi_god There are always problems with anything electrical and find out what it is and how that can either be eliminated or mitigated. Nothing is perfect but at least we find out what the problem is. Technology always changes and so will all that is electric. Eventually, we will have other means of generating power but there are always failures. We again find those problems including new problems and make sure the same problems are not going to happen again or can be mitigated. To me, this does make some sense at least in troubleshooting.

Transformers occasionally fail, and they can do so for a number of reasons - all of them probably too technical to explain in a 2-minute news clip. Typically the event involves a transformer exploding under load - I've noticed this happens every year or so to the Edison equipment in one location or another - outages happen fairly often in Santa Monica, for example, which is also Edison. DWP seems to be a little more reliable, but that varies from year to year - and they cover a much larger area in SoCal.
