Description: Jerry Blitz of AVTEC gives a narrated walk through of the power plant. This is a great video for the utility manager to understand what the various components of the plant are.
Summary: Come join Jerry as he walks the viewer through the control room and the generator room of the power plant. In the control room Jerry goes through the various components and their functions in the switchgear. He also describes the SCADA system and the fire system. In the generator room Jerry describes the coolant system, battery system, fuel and oil blender system, heat recovery system, and the ventilation system.

Nice and high quality boards then you see the disapointment, cheap, domestic internet router on the top of the first cabinet. Even more nerve racking, the SCADA computer is a Windows 10 machine....

That is all too common, even with NERC/CIP stuff. You should see military contractors...

@@gantmj A Linux or Unix distro is a good option, that's air gapped and thus not connected with the Internet.

@@gantmj Not bloated Windblows 10 with all its Updating, patching, and even doing what we used to call service packs without warning. Windows 7 was the last Desktop operating system.

@@djscrizzle I am not a linux/Unix guy but even I know this is correct. Needs to be a simple and reliable setup with random crap M$ does and is sneaky with.

I believe that total plant capacity is 280kW

Look closely, the panels say 150k each. (N+1 would be 300k max. not that you'd run them at 100%)

It is a teaching tool and that is why none of them are running. It would be impossible to hear Jerry talk over the engines in the engine room.
