He's trading for a monopoly, and the most powerful one in the game, You don't value trades by the property cost, you value by what the guy gets in the end. are none of you familiar with how these games work at all?? you can easily "throw the game" yet still win. you can be dead last for the longest time and still win or be doing fantastic and still lose. watch their game of life videos for proof and an even more recent example - mary kate and ashley. spencer won COMPLETELY out of the blue so don't rat on dan for making the decision he did when he has a pretty decent chance of winning if he raises more money

This is a dumb question but can someone explain to me how monopoly works? I never really got the opportunity to play it when I was younger.

In short, the goal of Monopoly is to buy and upgrade the properties that the others will land on, thus earning you money to further upgrade and purchase more land. The end goal of the game is to make the other players bankrupt by causing them to land on a spot they can't afford. I.E, if a spot cost 500 but the player only has 399 and nothing to sell, they are out of the game, and their property is up for grabs by the remaining players.
