Power Pop Shakers! New Releases/Reissues #24 (Nick Lowe, Rain Parade, Chine School, Saints & more)
This is the 24th episode of 'Power Pop Shakers!', where I talk about power pop new releases and the odd reissue.
There is a thriving international power pop underground scene, which I aim to promote with this series of videos. As much as I love the classic power pop acts like Big Star, The Raspberries, Cheap Trick and The Flamin' Groovies, it's always great to discover new bands from around the world with their own unique take on the genre.

Wow, (Hanging Out With The) Cool Fuckers? I just watched the video and it's fantastic! In fact, I've watched just about all your downloads videos and these are all great. I love guitar bands and they all hit the mark. I've seen Nick Lowe and Los Straightjackets a few times ( last year opening up for Elvis Costello) so I will be interested in hearing his new album. Another great Power Pop Shakers video Carl, I absolutely love this series!

Hi Tom. It's hard to believe that Rob Griffiths track only has a handful of views on KZbin and is only available as a download. It is, as you say, fantastic ... The Nick Lowe/Los Straitjackets album should be special. I've seen Nick Lowe/Dave Edmunds as Rockpile (probably told you that already). I'd love to see him live with Los Straitjackets. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Cheers.

Hi Matt. Thanks as always ... Nick Lowe had given up on albums, so it's really good news that Los Straitjackets have got him re-energised again ... I did have a listen to Kelley Stoltz after reading a review in Shindig. I'll give it another listen. I've noted down Laughing and Proctors, and I'll check them out too. All the best.

i love rock n roll pest control. only have the single not the album. always wondered what rest of that album sounded like. not familiar with The Fiction. Sounds like something I should look into. awesome recommendations carl.
