During that hour do you have to clean all parts ?
@MommaNurse
@MommaNurse 2 жыл бұрын
No, keep everything still set up and ready for pumping because it will be a consistent process/hour. Not enough time to wash the parts during the session. If you want to wash them AFTER the session then that is fine.

I had to come back to comment because I’m so surprised how well this method works! My production went down again after my second mastitis. I started yesterday morning with 1 power pump session and production was 185ml. I pumped 3 other times that day for 20 minutes as I usually do. This morning I power pumped again and production was 290ml. Still have to see how it goes the rest of the day. But I’m already extremely impressed about this difference. My low production gave me so much anxiety. Thank you so much for sharing!

My baby is 4 months old and I've been successfully pumping/breastfeeding till just a few days ago when my supply inexplicably decreased. I'm FREAKING OUT and have been trying all the tips. Drinking more water, eating more oatmeal, adding a pumping session, breast massage, supplements. I have yet to try power pumping and I really hope it works. Thanks for this video! There's something about your calm demeanor that just put me at ease.

@@alinatarkhanian I’m stressing right now because my baby was in the nicu for 23 days, and I was pumping while she was there, and once she was able to eat we gave it to her. I see my supply decreasing because honestly I’m not drinking enough water or eating enough, now that my baby is home I find myself just worried if she’s eating. After watching this video I’ll be trying out pumper pumping, & I also ordered brownies off of the Milky Mama website... My baby is definitely getting enough milk from each feed (I can tell by weight gain and diapers) but I’ve been trying to start a frozen milk stash for when I need to be somewhere without him or so dad can start bonding with feeds as well and honestly the most I’ve ever gotten was 2oz out of both boobs and that was basically a miracle. I’m definitely gonna try this

Don’t be down about it momma 2 bags is better than no bags! You’ve got this. Set a goal of setting aside (at least) one bag a day . Don’t be too hard on yourself the stash will come. I would wake up early mornings and continue the night sessions even when they would sleep thru the night…gives you extra opportunities for building. Been exclusively breastfeeding my baby for 5 months. She recently started solids and my supply has dropped in what seems like overnight. Baby has slightly less wet nappies (plenty poos though) but I knew my supply had dipped since my let down is usually within seconds but took about 5 mins to start. I don’t hear my babys deep swallowing like usual just small gulps. Definitely trying this to build my supply back up 🙏
@MommaNurse
@MommaNurse 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely give this a try. While baby is eating solids go ahead and pump to make up for the loss. This will help keep the supply rather than losing it. Keep in mind also that beginning solids will alter the output (urine and poop) but you want to make sure baby is still hydrated and getting enough nutrients. Good luck 👍🏾

Thank you for this. My baby is 2+ weeks old and I struggle to produce 1+ oz/day. I don't understand how other moms can produce like 1 liter/day. My baby is mixed feeding rn but I'd really like to have her on breastmilk exclusively. I've tried everything including organic milkmaid tea, moringga, fenugreek, sunflower lecithin (when my ducts were clogged with colostrum), lots of soup, water..... I guess this is my last hope, waiting to see results..
@MommaNurse
@MommaNurse 3 жыл бұрын
Be careful with fenugreek, some mothers have the opposite result with that (less milk production instead of more). Definitely give this a try, be consistent. Being that your supply is so low I would recommend 2 power pump sessions a day (if possible), if not then just do the 1. Also, check out my video on my overnight snack that also helped me increase my supply.

It makes me so sad to see some mamas comments about their milk supply. 💔.. I know that all we want to do is feed our babies. I had a major decrease a few weeks ago and it happened over-night… my baby’s milk supply decreased to less than an ounce. I felt hopeless, upset, and I cried. I believe it was due to stress from a full semester of college courses. 🥲 Along with mother’s milk tea, I turned to Fenugreek supplements and started resting more. I’m now back up to nursing him until he feels satisfied from feeding and then about 3 ounces to empty my boob. It’s nowhere near where I started, but this video has motivated me to try the power pumping to help increase it back to my “normal”… Thank you for this informative video.. and thanks for getting straight to the point ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you for this video. I have always breastfed but I had a micro-preemie born at 25+2 eleven days ago. At first my supply seemed adequate but I've noticed my supply tanking everyday over the last 4 days. Probably a bit due to stress and my pump had broken so I had 2 days where I had to manually pump which further frustrated the process. Pumping is different from breastfeeding and comes with different difficulties. I'm going to try this.

Congrats on your new baby, praying for baby to grow into a healthy little boy or girl. Yes! I always tell people that breastfeeding and pumping are two different things. Definitely give this a try it works wonders. Try to eliminate the stress, eat hearty meals, drink plenty of water and pump on a set schedule (especially if baby is not around ie in NICU) this gives you a few extra sessions per day to increase you ur supply. Also, check out my video on overnight milk supply snacks, and ways to increase your milk supply. Good luck on your journey

When power pumping do you stay in the let down mode each time you pump or do you shift between let down/massage and expression mode?
@MommaNurse
@MommaNurse 3 жыл бұрын
Preferably stay in the let down mode. The reason for this is because you want your milk ducts to think that it’s baby starting a new session. By starting these “new sessions” it works to produce more milk by increasing the demand. However, it will not hurt anything by being in the massage/expression mode.

Hello. Yes, I do. Especially during the first few days because you may start out with just a small amount so it’s best to combine it for freezing purposes. Once you start getting a lot of milk out if you want to store the first batch in the fridge until completion that’s fine.

Good info! Just to add to this wonderful info, what is important to remember is that adequate removal of breast milk is key, either from breastfeeding, hand expressing or pumping. Power pumping is great, however pumping in excess can also cause problem if the pumping parents stimulates breast and does not keep up with it as milk supply will increase, and if not consistent with removal of milk, this can trigger plugged ducts, or other breast issues. Always, get the support of lactation consultant if available, there are many breastfeeding resources and lactation clinic for support. Great educational video.

Increase your water intake, take in A LOT of milk producing foods, pump AND nurse often and on a schedule, while incorporating a Power Pump session at least daily for the maximum allowable time. I recommend 15min sessions every 2-3 hours. If you continue to go longer that will be your result, sore nipples. It’s best to have shorter sessions more frequently. Very good question. Your breast supply milk on demand. So if you pump before your baby nurses then your body will think that your pumping session is the baby. Then When it’s time for your baby to nurse, your body will naturally think baby is hungry again, resulting in your body producing more milk to supply your baby. The more you pump or nurse tells your body to produce more milk. I don’t bottle feed my babies, until I go back to work then dad will bottle feed, I avoid it if possible.

How long should one pump for normal session?Also,8 session in a day is sufficient (including power pumpkin)?

You would want to pump for about 10-15mins per session every 2-4 hours. This all depends on your schedule including your baby’s nursing sessions. The Power Pump session can be included in these times.

This video is very helpful thank you so much! I do have a question ! So if I power pump I only have do do it for 7 days or up to three weeks and completely stop power pumping? And just do regular pumping ?
@MommaNurse

No problem. Yes, that is correct. By doing it for 7 days (max 3weeks) it trains the body and milk receptors to produce more milk, and should continue to produce even if you stop power pumping after you've seen an increase. After that pump on your regular schedule. If you do notice a decrease at any time again in the future you can begin your 7day count again and power pump again.

Hi momma, I have a 4 month old who started day care last week. I felt a drastic decrease of my milk supply overnight. I do admit I have been drinking more coffee. My biggest worry he is not taking formula and has not started solids yet.

This happens when there is a change in your schedule, or together time. Have you built a milk stash? I would recommend working on that ASAP (here’s my video on how I built mine How to build a milk stash for back to work| 6 tips | 238 bags | Build your milk stash | 2020 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmLadmWaoblop6s ) Power Pumping will definitely help you build this stash and increase your overall milk production. Don’t give up, keep nursing your baby, drinking water and pumping every chance you get to build your stash. My babies did not like formula either so I can understand. I hope this helps, please reach out if you have any other questions ❤️

Thank you so much, I can already see an improvement with one day. I increased my water intake, took some prenatal vitamins and added oats for breakfast. In 2 power pump session I managed 500ml

When You Cut Down To Pumping For A Shorter Time More Frequently, Was It like for 15mins every 2hrs or so ?
@MommaNurse
@MommaNurse 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, about 10-15 mins every 2-3 hours. You can start out doing it every 2 hours to increase the production. Once you see the increase you can pump every 3 hours.
