In Vietnam and some other Asian countries, the full names are listed as [Family name] [Middle name(s)] [Given name]. It is strange that it was how they listed out Trang's name in the show, since she was clearly American and therefore should have been listed as "Trang [her last name]" like the others.

So many have written negative reviews saying within time the power coins make the morpher call out different rangers or won’t even read them just as you’ve seen here. They would have to push the coin and press the button at the same time for it to work. I don’t think that should be worth $50. It’s your choice, but if I were you I’d save my money and just stick with ‘93 and Legacy.

It looks like the Pterodactyl comin was not twisted in all the way. I assume that the morpher registers which coin is in based on how far the tabs are twisted in. I'm not a prop collector, but this does seem pretty cool.

The way the Morpher registers which coin has been inserted, is behind the coins themselves. They all have tabs set up differently. When you twist the coin into the slot, the different tabs hit their respective buttons on the board and it plays it's corresponding sound.

As a prop collector and replica collector I'd have to say that the 1993 BanDai is the most screen accurate and the one to get. It's what they used in the show. Just get a new set of red stickers and you have an accurate prop replica. This and the Legacy are basically pretty display pieces.

From what I’ve seen in other reviews, the connection on the coins is very finicky. This review definitely backs that up. I do love the Legacy one, but it’s very heavy, much more of a display piece. The Hasbro one seems to have a lot more “play” features which is neat. The “power down” effect is great, and I love how the morpher “fails” when no coin is in. Definitely picking it up, but hard to say which one I’ll prefer. Also really surprised it’s the same size as the Legacy one too! It definitely looks smaller on the box.

This is just a toy that’s way too big compared to the ‘93 morpher _(which I have and was used in the show)_ and the power ranger logo is also way too thin than the original version. The Legacy Morpher was used as a prop in PR Beast Morphers as Jason flipped the Legacy Power Coin, stuck it in his Legacy Morpher, and morphed with Rangers from other seasons. Tommy and Ryu also used the Legacy Morpher as a prop when morphing in Power Rangers Legacy Wars. Hasbro’s electronic features and coins are nice but I don’t think it’s worth the $50.

I’ll stick with my Legacy and original 1993 Bandai morphers as this morpher is very inaccurate to the show’s. The Legacy morpher was even used by Jason in Power Rangers Beast Morphers. The Lightning version is bulkier than the Legacy morpher and the ‘93 morpher. The Power Rangers logo is way too thin with big gaps in between the coin and morpher which wasn’t in the show. With the ‘93 and Legacy version, you can even insert power coins that Starlight Studio makes such as Ryu’s Crimson Hawk Power Coin and all of Tommy’s different power coins used in MMPR. @@MarkyMarc89 nope its not the original tv prop you are saying they used the legaxy morpher to morph in super ninja still by tommy and jason in beast morpher but in the original 1993 version if you watch them morph even in zyuranger they used the toy version hasbro is more accurate then the legaxy one search for the dx dino buckler and mmpr morpher 1993 versiin its much closer to hasbro then legaxy

I think overall the Hasbro one is more show accurate in terms of color. I am pretty sure the coins were shinny in the show. The lighter weight also makes in easier for cosplays.

I really like quite a few parts about this Morpher, I like the coins (except for the tabs too keep the coin in, if the Legacy morpher didn't need them the Lightning Collection one didn't either.). I like how the Morpher sits in the Belt buckle very snug and there's no gap that the Legacy morpher has. I like the stand. Lastly, I like the electronics a lot. Unfortunately that stuff is overshadowed by how faulty the toy seems to be out of the box. Encountering issues within 10 minutes of taking the toy out of the box is not a good sign.

I have the same problems with mine but my problems got worse the morning after buying it and it wont play the full sound clips every time. Sometimes it takes 10 presses to get it to play the full sound clips.

looks like the coins are based on the original from way back when. I never liked the hollow coin look and feel from the old toy even as a kid. I do like the use of identifying tags in the new one...but ultimately I'm glad I found the legacy team and green/white morpher in retail.

You can buy the shinny gold coins for the BANDAI one. I actually got the legacy Morpher for $1 at a garage sale. Didn't have any coins. Tried to buy the Red one on eBay but got outbid, eventually just bought the gold coins. I prefer the BANDAI one, Hasbro went too cheap on this one.

I'm glad that I got a legacy morpher for ~85$ a couple of weeks ago and my Lightning Dragon Dagger came two days ago. I prefer the legacy morpher over the lightning, but the lightning coins look better. I wasn't able to get the lagacy dagger unfortunately, it would have cost me over twice as much as the lightning version. Back when the legacy versions came out, I was unemployed and couldn't buy them and now that stuff is way too expensive... I hope Hasbro releases Saba, that would be nice, and hopefully some Zords, but please without these pegs and instead more accurate to the 90s toys.

I can tell that this version of the Power Morpher is more for the "play" aspect which is good. Hasbro needs to do something about those notches on the back of the power coins though. Could be that the one that MCUCollector got was a bit faulty. It just looks like Hasbro is using the elements from the original 1993 Power Morpher which isn't a bad thing. I'm very happy with my Legacy Power Morpher from the Bandai Legacy Collection though. And no MMPR theme song which is the deal breaker for me.

There’s no way to put the coin in wrong. The tabs on the outside are different size to ensure they go in one way. Maybe I didn’t turn it all the way, but again you can’t put the coin in wrong.

I have the Legacy and waiting for Hasbro’s. But so far what I’ve seen for the Hasbro, I’m cool with it. Just cause I like the idea of the evolution of the morpher. Yea Legacy have the Diecast and the MMPR tune, but I love how Hasbro has that elementals from the original Bandai toy way back then.

The tabs are behind the coin, not on the sides. The morpher will glow the correct color immediately if inserted right, so it's easy to tell.

Huh, seeing the backside of Black/Blue/Pink, that probably explains why it wasn't working as well: The left part of the coin on the morpher wasn't working the first time. There could be a defect with yours, as it kept messing up because of the left tab not detecting or not working.

Good review man. Glad you still side with Legacy. Side by side, it looks like they've been released in the wrong order! Lightning seems like a bit of a step backwards in hardware, but advance in software. Just like the Dragon Dagger I guess.

Maybe they didn't want to do diecast plates? Still gave the coins diecast. Who cares if the plates were metal or not? They wanted to make a morpher that was different, not the same. They did good. Each morpher was something special to it. I'll own all 3 when this comes out.

@@JerseyJoe90 No I don't actually mind that it's not metal. The Legacy is too heavy to wear for example. But this one's sizing is just knockoff. It's too thick and the writing part is too squished. The area around the coin leaves a gap even when the morpher is closed. That's my take on the hardware being a step backwards. Legacy was like a beautifully made pebble shape. Lightning is more awkward... BUT the different colour lights and voices from the show, it being the first morpher to actually be able to read the coins - that's pretty great. They nailed the electronics.

After seeing this, I really wanna have this display for the better. I think Hasbro is replicating the the morpher that was used on set back in 93 - 95, it's no wonder that it looks similar to the original 93 morpher by Bandai. Like this is a worth displaying item rather than being a playable item. But hey, I still like the legacy morpher though.

i can see how it can be appealing personally id take the legacy minus the chrome plates since the solid grey is more accurate and the chrome they used as not aged well on my shelf its gone very murky, the stand is definitely a deciding factor i think i currently have 3d printed coin stands for my legacy one id have loved an all in one solution like this but the deal breaker for me is the notches on the coins and the sounds im happy with my morpher not saying the names and ive never liked the notches which is why i never bothered with the original since it was the same though kudos to hasbro it seems what they aimed to do was give us an updated 1993 morpher with all the corrections and they pulled it off just not for me

All I got is the 1993 Power Morpher and the Power Coins I got is Tigerzord, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger and Tyrannosaurus and missing Pterodactyl. Anyways, the Power Morpher from Power Rangers Lightning Collection I can’t wait to get it when it comes out.

I fixed the coin problem. Push the power coin once in the morpher until the color of the ranger appears on the morpher. The right audio should correct.

I'm torn about the voices. ON one hand, it's neat that they got the audio clips of the original actors in there. On the other hand, why does a morpher need voices? The person playing with it should be yelling out the call. Also, I wonder where they got the morph sound. The Legacy version's morph sound is all sorts of strange, but this one's pretty accurate.

Hasbros is more true the show, cause it is more like the 90´s version but i prefer the legacy over the lightning as well. don´t get me wrong the morpher is nice but legacy is better^^

fun fact... now that you have it you can try and check if hasbro has tommy's gold morpher in mind.. trace one of the coins shape on cardboard cut it and try touching 2 different contact points at once ( aluminium foil on the back of the cardboard coin will do the job) if you manage to get white\green light or hear dragonzord\tigerzord.. we can confirm it ;) thank me later

@@MCUcollector24 ok so far i can see that the colors and contact points are like that: ranger color - contact points (backside) yellow-right blue - left red - up + right black - up pink - up+left you can try and insert the coins upside down but maybe hasbro made shur it wont work by not using the combination of white and green with the regular coins.. so here are the possible combinations that no coin uses and can be checked: down (reverse black coin) down +left (reverse red coin) down +right (reverse pink coin) right+left up+down combinations of 3 contact points together.. (need to make a cicrcle with 3 and flip it to the next contact point every time) and all 4 contact points.. lets hope we can find somthing cool with it ;)

Wow! I want one it's cool! I 💖 it the sound and the voices it's amazing But the Legacy Morpher are better I know that they're better but this is something brand-new this is awesome But still the power Ranger lightning collection Morpher it's Awesome!! I have both. My legacy one is much nicer than the lighting one I almost didn’t buy the lightning one until it went on clearance at Walmart for $25 then I got it so yeah for $25 it fine but not even close to legacy quality.
