20:00 raise taxes when you want to deliberately limit purchasing power. raising VAT & interest rates will make people stop spending and start saving. then when you're deflating lower taxes & interest rates to encourage people to start consuming. this is an excellent way to keep inflation between 2-4%.

By far the best video on the economy in this game out there. Outstanding job and I am now a subscriber to your excellent content. They also do an excellent job making it clear that it is almost required to govern from a leftest manner. The creators of this game are clearly are very progressive and their bias is all over the game. I am not complaining or making a political statement just pointing out the reality of the game. I do wish it was created without a political bias so we could try to govern in multiple variety of ways. To be successful you almost have to govern from a tax and spend leftest perspective in this game or least that has been the case for me. I would curies if anybody has had any success governing a western nation from a conservative perspective of lower taxes and a more supply side approach.

How do you build sectors that you don't have the resources to open? Can't you just import the raw materials and open the sector that way?
@HenriqueRJchiki
@HenriqueRJchiki 5 ай бұрын
To open a sector simply subsidize it until it opens (A closed/inexistent sector has the X symbol on it) once it's open (no X symbol anymore) it won't close down ever again even if it has no production. Some sectors are extraordinarily expensive to brute force opening without some key technology so you have to experiment with trial and error to see what your country can open or not. Growing the sector is much harder though. Needless to say you can't open a sector that you country has no resources for example if your country has no iron you obviously can't open the Iron sector, there's nothing to mine. But you can open a steel sector, you'll have to import the iron.

Don't grow more than around 5%. Once you surpass 5%, you can overinflate your economy and you run into the issue of inflation. Contracts and economic growth contribute to increasing inflation, so you need to walk a fine line when it comes to growing. Balance growth with taxes that reduce it; industrial pollution, VAT, etc.

9:50 When looking at productivity took a careful look at the amount of people working in said industries.. Occationally a industry its manpower comparitive to its output is so bloated that it significantly lowers the productivity to the point where it might be impossible to possibly raise the output high enough to justify these amounts of manpower.. This is particularly the case in many agricultural industries in developing countries and the services sector az a whole for example in many western world. Swallowing millions of manpower for little to no output/productivity.. In such cases it might be easier if you want to reach optimal productivity is to collapse the industry yourself and let it rebuild itself Easiest way to do if you can afford it is to nationalize a industry and remove all manpower from it.. The industry will instantly dissappear and then you can rebuild either slowly rebuild it yourself by adding manpower or privatize and subsidize it and allow the AI to do it.. In this game there is literally millions of people wasted in industries that will never be profitable under these conditions for said country.. Just keep in mind that your destroying entire sectors, to rebuild them from scratch. If you got the budget to carry the loss of revenue temperarily as you rebuild it then it is most certainly worth it.. This is typically what I do when I get low on unemployment.. I collapse a ineffecient industry and allow the rest of the economy to slowly absorb them restoring much of the lost GDP. While the collapsed industry can slowly recover itself the way it should.. The AI is pretty decent in controlling/managing the manpower of starting industries.. Not really in optimizing the old ones.. If you keep that proces up then your going to find yourself with a lot more revenue for each industry, which can again be used to purchace different more expensive inefficient industries repeating the process.. Eventually after you did that to most industries then you can become a economic monster

unfortunately your first tips regarding for example oil (1:50) are already wrong - it may be the case IF what you are selling is privatized but when you sell oil as lets say russia which has nationalized oil sector the extra money goes to your treaury thus NOT creating inflation unless you spend that money(for example infrastructural projects like highways or subsidies or lowering taxes or whatever that pumps money into the economy)! Also you suggest that not signing a contract means you don't sell oil at all which again - is false, you do sell it but at a different price, world trade organization forces you to sell everything including nationalized sectors even tanks and missile launchers (unless you embargoe a country) that's why you see yearly sales in your industry tab even though you didn't order any tanks for your nation. If I had time I would make my own in-debth tutorial regarding..well everything this game has to offer because most of the tutorials online are simply wrong in many places

Hello, nice video, but I still have a question that it is not answered in this or any other video/forum etc. My goal is to get in the G7. I'm staring with a country with 180B GDP and I want to get to a trillion at least. After some years in game I'm at this position: Huge treasury reserves (2-3 times my GDP) Surplus of All the resources that can be produced in my country (there is no more room for subsidies I'm spending like 2% of GDP to every sector and there 40 main sector so 80% of my state expenditures is subsidies) 100% Internet connectivity of all kinds High speed train connecting EVERY city in the country and to all neighboring countries Ports, airports depending fully on STATE solar and having 200 electricity surplus just by building solar plants to increase my GDP (my country does not produce oil) In sort I have managed to triple the original GDP of the country without annexing other areas. I have even found some artificial ways to increase GDP by spending treasury money (25% of the GDP) in order to buy things and stimulate growth within the country without increasing inflation but it is temporary and not very efficient. The money circles from treasury to the economy and back by the end of the circle when the GDP also returns to its original value. So does anyone knows how to continue increasing my GDP? How to keep the growth constant? What else is there to do except for attacking others which is hard because my country has 10M population and annexing other countries is hard and I lose due to to Warmongering and no one want his 50k GDP per capita to go 30k. THANKS TO WHOEVER GETS THIS FAR!!!

@@ellanceropureblood1128 Absolute self-sufficiency is not possible, but what I suggest is picking out the most important industries you rely on and specifically poring billions into them as well as annexing countries producing what you need. The latter is probably one of the best options.

Don't play Greece... Simple!

Don't embark on major projects and get some tax reform passed so you can reduce the deficit. I know for a fact Greece owes the EU Bank around $80 or $90 billion alone, which might be one explanation as to why reimbursement goes up as these emergency loans from the IMF, Euro Bank, and World Bank are very high interest. And those don't even include your national debt, which Greece likely starts off with high rates due to the previous debt crisis.

@@groman9900 What specifically are you asking for? If you're talking about what you do after a tax reform, just maintain the lower deficit. Get it under 1% and keep it there, or shoot for a surplus. Don't spend too much money until you see large surpluses.

i like this guide but i have a good strategy how to stop inflation as an european nation: join EU, join euro, and spam subsidies

Can I ask something? Are subsidies working for you? All that happens to me is that the "production %" number goes up; the actual trade balance never changes after subsidizing it - is this normal?
