Power steering leak

Nice repair Mike... A couple of years ago I kept track of the percentage of (shop time) I spent repairing verses building something new and it was about 50-50. The more toys you have the more time you spend repairing them. Either way very satisfying. LOL

Most of my stuff is dated equipment. So maint/repair is a way of life. I try to keep things in good working order as much as possible. I find it challenging. Like you, I get a good deal of satisfaction from this work. I hope things are going well for you. Tc, Mike

Thanks Al. It's been a good one. Have had very little trouble with it through the years. I've always liked Ford equipment. Here in Iowa I'm in a minority as this is the middle of John Deere country. Looking forward to your next video. Tc, Mike

That is a nice looking tractor hope that takes care or the leak. I might have a job coming in the shop. A variable speed rotary welding table. Should know next week some time.

Nice tractor - but like most equipment - always something needs repaired! If that is anything like my truck without power steering it'll be awful heavy! Looks like you got a fix Mike (hopefully). Hope weather not been too cruel to you - pretty rough here for several days. Gets tiresome! - Best.

Cool video on the power steering pump. I own a 3930 in the 2 Wheel Dr. version and it’s a really good tractor. How do you like your four-wheel-drive 3930? I have heard that the front differential on the four-wheel-drive’s has a tendency to leak fluid. Have you had this problem with yours?

I've had my 3930 for 10 years now and I love it. Never had any problems with the front dif leaking. Actually other than the rebuilt kit for the power steering and a instrument cluster replacement thats about all I've done to it. I used it on the small square baler and haybine back when I did hay. Now about all it's used for is pulling a two wheel wagon and snow plowing in the winter. Really fuel efficient and starts even below zero F. I also have a 1978 ford 5600 with a loader. We always had Ford and Ford New Holland equipment when growing up in Michigan. Now out here in Iowa if it's not red or green it's considered an off brand. 😊. Tc, Mike

My cylinder seal is leaking and it looks like it’s gonna be a pain in the arse to change out.

My per steering cylinder seal is leaking now too. Been putting it off. Getting tired of adding steering fluid every time I use it. There is a fairly good youtube video of a guy doing one on a ford 3930. I think that is about the same for the 3000 and 4000 tractors as well.

Well it’s been 2 years, I was wondering if that fixed the leak

Everything's dry. I also replaced the o rings in a couple of hose fittings. So far so good.
