Hey Liam thanks for the Video. I have a Dual 4 ohm 600rms subwoofer. Will this be able to play it at 8 ohm? Thanks

550wRMS Bridged 8ohm using only 1 spk bridge on bridge terminal 300wrms x2 at 4ohm 275wrms x2 at 8ohm this is what i got from this video thanks if you want true 1000wrms then you need to spend 400-1000 dollars...not 200

@@slimshady6913 They're a very cheaply made amp. Fun to play around with, and alright for someone doing a bit of pub karaoke or little garden parties. Definetley not for pro use

Now that equation that you used to come up with the conclusion of 500 and some watts is that per channel or is that a total of both channels combined? And what was the equation? Like what did you punch in your calculator?

E2/R So square of the voltage over resistance.

So on the oscilloscope with the sine wave when the sine wave has a distortion in it instead of it being a nice curvature does that distortion mean clipping?
@killcar5nbike2 Жыл бұрын
On a functioning amp with no issues, once the sine wave starts to flatten or become misshapen that's clipping. On this amp you can see the ripple in the PSU from the 100hz rectification pulses as a slow distortion just at the onset of clipping.

If you're pushing it hard, yes. The clip lights do come on early 9n these, it actually clips a bit after the clip lights come on.

you’ve only got 554w because you’ve used 1 channel, This is a 2 channel amp so over 1100w for the 2 which is decent power for such a cheap amp I’ve got 4 of these and 8 powered subs these run my other 8 subs and 8 tops as well as 4 tweeter cabs and they run them plenty!
@killcar5nbike23 жыл бұрын
It's running BTL using both channels. The rail voltage unloaded is only 65v. Loaded it drops significantly. One channel into 4 ohm maxes out at around around 300 Watts. Drive 2 channels into 4 ohm and you get 2x 270 Watts.

@@killcar5nbike2 can’t be surely may have to test mine I’ve also got a crown audio 3000w amp and they’re not too different sound and volume wise both running same speakers and song neither one can be overheard on say 25% vol somethings not right with your one they can’t be that underpowered and I’m pretty sure you even said it’s from 1 channel which 500w would be correct on 8ohm and then 1000w on 4ohms not bridged so I’m not 100% sure what’s gone wrong either it’s this test entirely or the amp itself not hate to yourself,

@@speeddemons4333 I suggest you look at my other videos. You do know I literally design my own electronics, including amplifiers. I know competently what I'm doing when I test an amp. Especially when it's one of a whole pallet load of the same kind, all of which I did extensive repair work on
@speeddemons43333 жыл бұрын
@@killcar5nbike2 didn’t know that but ok, clearly hard wear then as I’ve had this at 3/4 vol and same on a 3000w crown audio amp and I can not physically hear a difference neither can 4 other people who have worked in the sound industry for multiple years and have set up hundreds of festivals perfectly capably with more than 25k people there
@killcar5nbike23 жыл бұрын
@@speeddemons4333 when dealing with power once you get to the 500w range you have to start putting several KW in to notice the difference. Then there's the whole sensitivity vs power handling. That's why something consuming a lot more power doesn't sound massively louder
@tok4life4203 жыл бұрын
Did you say rms power doesent exist? Lol
@killcar5nbike23 жыл бұрын
Yes, RMS stands for Root Mean Square. You take several readings of a bipolar value, square those readings, find the mean value, then find the square of that. Power in Watts is an average value of Joule/seconds that can only ever be positive and is already a product of energy dissipation over time. It is mathamatically impossible to have an RMS value of energy dissipation in Joules, let alone Watt hours.

About as much inside as any other amp with "Pro" or "professional" plastered on it in big letters. Does have room for improvement. I modded one so the fans are temp controlled, and the output stage is uprated so it can safely drive low impedance loads.
