As a developer, you are used to managing credentials: username, password, certificate, URL. On Kubernetes, this usually means having to create a secret to hold this sensitive data. Well, many secrets actually. Hopefully, your dev credentials are different from the production ones.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you never had to deal with this complexity? Introducing ServiceBinding.io: a way to connect apps to many services without having to deal with service credentials. For example, you might rely on a containerized database in the dev environment and switch to a VM-backed instance in production. As a platform operator, you manage services without asking everyone to update credentials because the URL or the password has changed.
In this session, you will see how to use service bindings with Spring Boot and Bitnami, including customer stories.
