Nice, concise video for a not easily figured out assembly without a book or video like this. Good work, Andrew.

Great video. I was not able to turn my lifting-bolt and get it out first because it was so full of carbon in there. Then I discovered threads in the bolt, screwed in a small bolt and was able to work it out slowly. Thanks good for the engineer that put those threads there.

Yes sir those threads come in handy!!!!

Nice video. I dont own this ktm, and I dont think I'll ever do, or work on one of them, but I was interested in how this power exhaust valve system works, and you made a nice concise video. Cheers.

I have a 03 125 sx with a recently fresh top end. When I did the top end, I didn't want to tear the power valve assembly apart. Well I got the bike back together and notice the low end power feels weak. Once the power valve opens it seems to operate well with strong power, but until then it's quite underwhelming. It feels like it's staying closed, when it should be opening gradually with increasing throttle input. I did mess with the power valve adjustment hoping to fix it that way. Unfortunately it did not fix the issue, so it looks like I'll be tearing it apart to clean and inspect the power valve assembly. I'm thinking the pv timing may be off.

Mark, thanks for the comment. It sounds to me like the PV actuator may not be engaged (ball end, into forked end), and the PV is stuck in the open position. Your thoughts please?

Very nice video. One queation my friend. When you push the controle flap full open and the exentric bold is in, our exentric bold has left and right play. Does urs do or have the same thing???

Great Vid dude. I wish you'd do one on the new style Power Valve. I have a 06 XCW200 but my son rides a 14 XCW250. I do appreciate your time on this vid tho, Nice job.

Amazing video. I have a 200. The powervalve is currently not opening, the adjuster is working but the valve stays closed and the mechanism merely vibrates when viewed through the window. However it can be moved with a screwdriver. Im keen to fix it myself and wonder if its a head off job or if it could have become disconnected down behind the waterpump ? If anybody might know much appreciated !
@RattleCanCollective13 күн бұрын
Try the sight hole by the water pump first to see if the arm is engaging with the roller arm. If it is engaged it’s more than likely a head off job. I’m looking into doing it in my 200 after a rebuild. Not looking forward to it. Wish me luck.

Can someone clarify on the lifter bolt? It goes into the head, how? Or is he just threading it in for installment

Question... I'm in the process of rebuilding a 2001 200 EXC so this assembly process will be coming up soon. Why did you put the eccentric bolt in first and then the lifting bolt when you then removed the eccentric bolt? Does it need to be in place to align the lifting bolt? Thanks in advance for you reply and thanks for posting this video.

Do I have to completely tear down my engine to just replace the actuator arms? I would rather not have to completely disassemble again as I just put a new clutch case and cover with a Hinson clutch
@phrodendekia4 жыл бұрын
Tearing down your engine is an essential thing that comes as a combo when you buy any 2 stroke engine.

WRONG! He is correct, it is an ECCENTRIC bolt. Look it up in the parts manual before you comment next time. (And spelled with two "C"s.)
