PowerDirector 20 - Subscription Versus owning

Lance, I have to agree with you 100%! I am actually still using my Director Suite 6, with PD16,PhD9,AD8 and CD6, from 2017. I love it because I actually OWN it. I truly wish CyberLink would go BACK to the fully loaded "Director Suite" packages, the we could purchase and own. Sadly, 2017 was the last year for this, with Director Suite 6 being the last. 100% agree - if you look into it you will see that all of those business models work fine for the supplier and not for the customer.

I agree with you entirely. Can you tell me if the version you have bought and now own, has it had any stabilisation added to the tool bar?? I'm running on Power director 12, I think and it suits my needs, but an upcoming camera upgrade and moving from a windows computer to iMac, I would like to reinvest in power director once again. Thank you for this upload, it was of great interest to me.Phil🇬🇧

yeah....I wish i knew about this buy it straight out....but it is totally sold out all the versions of PDirector....had to buy one year on sale for 75 $ cad . perhaps next year, if i am lucky they will be back on the market

I use Power, color and photo director and have historically upgraded yearly regardless, so the subscription is for me. Also use the stock images a lot for another channel I edit for.

Cannot disagree with any of that. I don't see PD putting out many changes even over 3 years (which is the break even point as long as you uninstall, renew 365 and reinstall so you renew at the discounted rate each time). Personally, I also kept PD 17 just in case I don't renew at some point. But yes, I don't use any of the "stock" stuff that they have been adding and there have not been any real improvements to to program over the past couple of years. I suspect the next improvement will be 5.7k video editing.

Annula subsricption for Power Director 20 Ultimate costs 52$. If you want to buy liftime licence for PowerDirector Ultimate it will cost you 140$. For that price you can buy almost three annual subscriptions and after three years there will be newer versions of software so I think that annual subscription is not that bad

You never pay that full price. There are constant sales and googling a coupon will always find you one.

Yes, as long as you renew the subscription the "sneaky" way (remove, buy at a discount and reinstall which still saves everything as it was). Otherwise I think the yearly renewal is $80.

I have the non subscription version of PD 19 and for the life of me I cannot find the non subscription version of PD 20 without having to download the 365 subscription. Is it possible to upgrade to PD 20 without 365? I've been all over the Cyberlink website logged in with my account and not logged in with my account and can't seem to find the upgrade link like I did when I went from PD 18 to PD 19.

I really appreciate the help and I really appreciate all the tutorials you give.
