Just wanted to say thank you for all your tutorials, you guys are the best. I can't tell you how many I've watched and how much I've learned. You've taken my efforts from primitive to almost professional looking. I'm currently working on a sailing vacation and will attempt to use the nautical chart of the area and hopefully come up with something amazing. Thank you all so very much, keep up the great work.

I love your work. Your tutorials are quick and easy to follow without the wordiness I have seen with several others who make tutorials. It is a pleasure to watch and learn from your tutorials.

Just seeing this after posting a video where this probably should have been used. Didn't even cross my mind then but now, after seeing this, I'm thinking it's a great use of establishing shot Local & saves video length in trying to do the same thing via location shots . (PD18 & DS365) Thanks.

That's absolutely true. Most of us have lost too much time when we could not recover editing we have done. --Jim

Jim, I'm going to use, thanks to your excellent tutellige (spelling?), this technique in my onging production. I'm going to use narration with a light decibel music background but I think it will be easier to adjust the narration to the visual technique instead of a complicated process of combining the two. I know I could layout the narration first then layer the visuals over it but I've lost enough hair already! Thank you!

The only thing that I would have done different is either fade or go back to 0 opacity on the last video. Damn nice tut.

Where can I get detailed help. I wanted to follow the instructions in this video, but could not find the settings how I can set the image crops....

@@SharperTurtle I try to explain better. In the pip designer in your video I can see a dashed grid. A frame smaller than the image and a horizontal and vertical LINE. Later in the video, this frame encloses the area of the map to zoom into. I don't have this grid in my application, or don't know where the associated setting is.
@SharperTurtle Жыл бұрын
I think I understand a bit better. Thanks for the additional description of what you see. If you look on the lower right of the preview window, you will see a small square. (It is a small icon of a white square with a dotted line inside it.) When you click on that a window will pop up that will turn on or off a "TV safe zone" and/or grid lines. In the recording for that tutorial I had both the "TV safe zone" turned on and I used the (2x2) setting for grid lines as well. All these can be toggled on or off. Hope this helps some. --Jim

Great work as usual. It would have been helpful if you would have shown the visual results of your changes in the keyframes as you implemented them. Showing the results at the end was useful, but I had trouble visualising each part .
@SharperTurtle6 жыл бұрын
Paul, I was afraid that putting in all the keyframes without showing the implications might be awkward. I was trying to keep the tutorial brief, but in retrospect I should have not worried about length. If the example were at the beginning (where I usually put it) that might have helped too. I might want to put together an 'advanced' key frame tutorial just on that part. What do you think? --Jim
@paulfeiger6 жыл бұрын
Jim, I love all your tutorials. I have learned so much, I just want to understand. It seems I'm not as quick as I used to be. I think an advanced tutorial is a worthwhile idea. Meanwhile, I am reviewing all the tut's on keyframes.
@SharperTurtle6 жыл бұрын
Paul, Keyframes are a foreign concept; to anyone who has not done video editing. But once you understand their purpose and that they enable you to change the value of a setting (position, opacity, scale, etc) from one place in time to another, they begin to help you do great things. --Jim

When i'm in the PiP Designer, my keyframes aren't enabled, so I cannot make adjustments where I should be able to add keyframes. What is going on? Does it have to do with my cyberlink powerdirector setting?

Click on the small blue triangle pointing up in the lower right corner below the preview window. This should show you your keyframe tracks. --Jim

While editing I used to see several pre set settings that had combos for pan zoom in pan right etc. Now they seem to have dissappeared. Anyone know how I locate those.
