Cool and interesting video. But what would make it even better is to give 'typical' uses for these. Why would you go for J-cut or a L-cut ? How does it affect the viewer ? For noobs like me, that would be valuable, even though it's a step further than only the 'technical way to do it'. Anyways, thanks for the quality content.
@milos.sladecka3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for a very good video. One note - there is an easier way to create keyframes on audio track wherever you want. Select desire audiotrack (left click), then press Ctrl and simply do left mouse click on the horizontal blue line of the audio volume in the audiotrack at the position you want a keyframe. It´s very quick way of creating audio keyframes.

I do a version of the Cross Cut/Action Cut for my iRacing videos that works well. I have two views of car on track. There is action or an incident. I start with the In-Car view 1-2 seconds of the clip. Insert the second view of the same action, same time frame of 1 - 2 seconds. Continue the action with the second view for 1-2 seconds. Insert the In-Car view of the second 1-2 seconds. Makes an instant replay that doesn't 'play' as a replay. Keep the clips short as possible; 1-2 seconds. Here is the schematic; each A and B clips are the same length of time showing the same action of two view points. Clip A1 Clip B1 Clip B2 Clip A2 I've played around with this and having Clip B1 flow into Clip B2 seems to be the key. Even though Clip A1 and Clip A2 are separated (in time) by quite a distance it plays as smooth time transition. I usually have the video then continue with Clip A for some time to 'settle' things out. Works best with high speed action.
@PDU_Tutorials4 жыл бұрын
This is a very good technique for keeping your audience engaged in the action. People love seeing things from different perspectives/viewing angles. Keep up the great work.

Thanks you lots. Brand new to this so qq. Can you explain to me why you turn the volume down all the way on both audio clips when you're doing the j and L cuts?
@PDU_Tutorials4 жыл бұрын
I do not turn them all the way down. I create a fade at the beginning so that the incoming and outgoing volume is not jarring and smoothly transitions into the next clip. You want to hear it build up to the point that the clip is visible.

Right click the file when it’s in the media library and choose “change alias” You can try removing the entire name if that doesn’t work give it a name with one letter or one number. Keep in mind this will change the name in the media library as well as the name on the timeline.
