Of the dense cast of Creepy (or just plain weird) Marios present in this mod and beyond, MX is still my favorite, because if Mario was to become evil, he feels the most likely result. How many times have you seen Mario's practice of sprinting through levels, punching through bricks and stomping on every enemy in his path, depicted as a savage massacre? MX is the end point of that joke, just a brutal juggernaut that leaves devastation in his wake, perfect.

the old version compared to the newer one is just incomparable, the older one has the melody down, but his voice just sounds like...emotionless, he's just screaming the notes, but this one just has power in his voice, sounds much more "alive" idk how else to put it. AND the song has basically been bumped up to a 15/10 i guess the best way to put it, is old MX sounds like a pokemon cry being on repeat for the whole song, while v2 sounds like...well...a person singing with a robotic voice. lastly, yeah, the beginning of old powerdown just doesn't have the oomph without the beginning theme. it just feels incomplete once you hear it.

@@TomatoTrap v1 has a better atmosphere, the song as a whole in v2 stays largely the same in intensity throughout all of it, and with that intensity being relatively high [plus to overall size increase of the background] leads to it feeling more of a spectacle to what was previously a very dread filled song. I found myself more distanced from the song with the background changing and the instrumental blasting harder, and with this it's harder to put in the slow part before the ending that so clearly defined powerdown v1 to other songs [along with the ending feeling less impactful in the song due to it already being intense the entire time before it]. v2 is a song made to go hard, v1 is a song made more for an experience, and in a game where so many songs try to just go hard I'd prefer the one that has a personality to it. also the song gets stale faster listening to it on loop when it has literally no real downtime.

Still the best of the remasters. So much, SO MUCH emotion from the vocals. Especially by the end with BF's vocals, giving us the highest caliber of his crying vocals. Funny how MX's week is just the second to last week before All Stars, and yet it has the biggest emotional gut punch before the finale itself. And thank God that the False Hero section was changed. Now MX's vocals don't mesh so much with the instrumental that I can't hear them over BF's vocals. Now they're a lot more hearable. And one last question: who the heck was that screaming at the end?

Getting to this song, I was starting to get worn down as I made the foolish mistake of playing all of the mod('s story) in one sitting. v1 has a better atmosphere, the v2 opening drags away from the dread and mockery in the start of the original song, the background and mx are scaled up significantly which pushes it more to a spectacle, gf being ripped in half only holds shock value that distances you further from the feeling of dread evoked from the first song, the instrumental is a bit too cluttered for the sitting in silence part before the ending to work as well as it did in v1, the emotion improved upon in the song leans more to a struggle between two equal forces compared to [especially in v2] a clear advantage given to mx, v2's bf vocals feeling much more like the song was set so he was being actually chased when in reality they're just both standing there. The tone of the v1 had an underlying fear for what mx could do, v2 skips the implications and says he did horrible thing x and horrible thing y and also horrible thing z, and when the horrible things are listed for you your imagination is limited on how scary this guy can be. Considering how plain most horrible things get in horror mods like this, the experience would have been better if it left it to our imaginations. basically, v2 is trying to hard and in doing so ruined the intended experience of v1. maybe to some people the song having a different vibe is better, but there's a certain point where the logic turns to something along the lines of "every song in undertale would've been better if it was megalovania", and now it's not powerdown v2 it's just a completely new song.

Angler- Normal Blitz- Highly increases note speed (because he arrives alot quicker) Pinkie- practically invisible notes (because they dont flocker the lights like other angler variants) Froger- notes move up and down and back up so they slightly mess with timing, like the input, not the notes itself, you know what i mean) Chainsmoker- Way slower notes and covers the bottom half with smoke to obscure notes Pandemonium (if they were there) increased note speed (not as high as blitz) and causes the screen to shake, and maybe even do note block commands to make it more chaotic

MX had *THE* greatest glow-up to be absolutely honest. (Along with others too) but what im sayin is, In the V1, it was some spooky Mario port that was taller than BF. Deep voice yeah yeah, you can see he was a big ol killer due to the background. I did favorite him during V1 and after V2, i DEFINITELY favorite him. You can now just tell he’s a killing machine that has nothing in his way to stop him. With a faker form to trick you, and the thing is, it’s said that his faker form *USED* to look like Mario but since it overused it,, it got distorted. Imagine the amount of times he’s tricked people that the form is literally deformed??? HELLO? And even the part of MX literally tearing GF into half with ease with that most, throat killing atrocious yell of a, “ *WAHOO* “. Him yelling in parts of the song even got me actin up, like imagine hearing THAT while being chased or just in general? Hell naw im already dead, given up and gone 😞.. Basically MX himself is absolutely amazing and interesting, in my opinion of course. The faker form, when he isn’t hunting Lucas, it’s a whole different story for him.
