Wow, speaking as a black woman with natural hair, there are so many better styles they could have gone for, it was clear that she didn't like it at all and no wonder. A lot of black hair actually looks great if you wash it and then put a good gel through it (like Eco gel) or a natural curl enhancer like Miss Jessie's curly pudding or something like that. And when it dries, the hair has natural wavesk and coils and they're all shiny and pretty. I mean we've all seen some black women who have natural hair that looks amazing and a lot of them literally just do something called a "wash and go" where you wash the hair, use a product or two, rake your fingers through your hair and let it dry. This was really terrible. Also, he shaved that woman's hair way too short. WAY too short. The only way this style works is if he'd added some sort of vibrant punkrock type color to her hair. He could have left a cm or two there. Man. Terrible makeovers.

Also, not everyone's hair grows as fast as average. It literally took me 4 years to grow back out a side shave, and it was still only to just below my jawline. So when I get my hair cut, I know I'm going to have to deal with the consequences for at least a year. I have a friend whose hair grows super fast. Like I'll see her in the summer with a pixie cut, and by Christmas she's got a long bob. I'm not joking; that would take me YEARS to grow back. It's so not fair.

I'm fairly sure her hair wasnt supposed to be styled at all. It was more so to show that natural hair can be as long and full bodied as a white girls. A lot of times black girls, as you know, are told that theyre hair isnt good when its natural and they should relax and cover it. Admittedly, it didnt look as styled as the rest but it was really done to show her that having curly free hair is just as ok as having straight hair and she should feel comfortable having her hair be the way it is the grows from her scalp.

The ex-blonde girl's hair is actually not going to be as damaged as you may think because since she is already blonde, he only had to use a Demi permanent color which only deposits color into the hair and does not lift. If she would have had dark brown hair, her hair may have been damaged because she would have had to get it bleached first in order for him to get the shade of red he was looking for. I hate hairdressers because when they see my hair they don't want to give me what I want. I've lived my life in a ponytail and at least 5 different hairdressers don't give me what I ask for, short hair. True, my hair is curly and frizzy, but I can't keep tying my hair up just to get rid of it. I ask and ask and they just trim it. If I made a mistake, let it be MY mistake, don't decide how to wear my hair whether it's curling it more or straightening it or whatever. Everyone says they want my hair, well have it cause I don't.

I know how you feel. I've gone to a hair salon a few time where I tell the stylist what I want and they always say "Hm, well i think you should do this..." Or "Well, that won't work." Like, I understand they might be right in some cases, but you are paying them. And like you said, if you make a mistake, it's your mistake. Only last week I went to a different hair stylist and she actually cut my hair the way I asked her to and I love her. I've never had a style like my current one before and I feel good about it. Whereas my last few experiences my hair has always come out looking the same.

There are so many ways to style natural hair, and I feel like they did her a disservice just by taking out the weave, not putting the right product in and then not styling her Afro. A Wilson Just a warning, blue and green colours are very hard to get out, I had to bleach my hair twice to get it all out (two months after I had it done) and even then I had some green-ish spots. But if you wanna keep it blue for quite some time, go for it! I'm going back blue soon! :D

Good idea, oh and find a good stylist in your area to do it for you, like actually look them up online. A stylist who can do a good ombre is hard to find, but most are decent at least.

To be honest I think he did a horrible job... I mean first of all.. most of the girls who got bangs once they wash their hair they will have to constantly straighten it or it will look horrible.. it's super easy to make them look pretty once they leave the salon but they forget that girls need a cut that they do not have to apply heat or do things to afterwards! The girl with half her hair shaved off....BIG NO. Her original hair was gorgeous I would have just shave a bit on the side.. NOT EVERYTHING... like SERIOUSLY man?

Preach! This is exactly why I'm frustrated with hair stylists, especially male hair stylists. You ask them to give you a low-maintenance hair cut and they will push you for something more "life-changing" and tell you it's a "wash-and-wear"...yeah right, wash your hair and wear a hat.

Mainly when I get my bangs cut.. they should tell you: "hey, I can cut your bangs but from what I see your hair isn't that straight so you would have to be straightening it... I suggest this and this.. " But noo they just cut it and then once you wash your hair, your fucked. -.-

That shaved side was wayyyy to close. Daysha's hair was left alone so much! All they did was take out the weave and wash her hair! Ugghhh I could do better than this "stylist" and I'm 13!

The point is, when your hair is in weaves and relaxers all your life, the hair is dry and brittle and weak. They obviously didn't know what they were doing, so they just took out her weave and used the contrast in style (when they just washed her hair) to mask the fact that they weren't accustomed to African-Descended hair types.

This made me angry all the way through. His jabbering nonsense , the lightening speed of his jabbering and then the aftershots flashed by so quickly that I couldnt see them. I put the vid on slow-mo and wished I hadn't. None of the treatments improved anything, none were lovely and none were well done. I felt angry on behalf of the clients. What a betrayal of trust.

I've always had straight, thin, long hair. I dye it very frequently and I'm contemplating a pixie cut, I've always vowed to never cut my hair short because i wouldn't want it but for some reason I feel a lot more confident about it and I think I'll try it next time.

I cut my hair nice and short and it looks wonderful! I get compliments from strangers frequently and it's very low maintenance. I would totally try it as long as you trust your stylist. My advice is to find a picture of a pixie cut you like on someone else and bring it in, show it to your stylist and ask what she thinks. If you do I right I promise you won't regret it B)

Almilia In the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimeya (ik I spelled her last name wrong...) I got my hair cut like Yukis about 2 years ago (and it has only just grown back to the same length, actually its still a bit shorter than before, ugghhh, basically its down to my shoulders) and at first I hated having shorter hair (by a few inches, lol) but then I grew to love it shorter! And still do! Short hair ftw! x3

+BQADDeftones i'm a natural blonde (just a little darker and more ash-toned than the woman in the video) and i've been dying my hair dark red for years (sometimes brown, sometimes purple, but mostly red.) and it's a nightmare to maintain. it fades fast, and if you're not careful, it gets kinda brassy looking. dying my hair's definitely messed up the texture a lot too i think, i used to have fairly curly hair, but now it's kinda just vaguely wavy at best. i do love the way red looks though on me so i guess it's the sacrifice i have to make 😞
