its called 'kirtan' which is where we come together singing 'gurbani' which are the words written by the gurus, which again is prasies of god, singing it with love allows one to fall in love with the divine. hope that helped!

When you chant/sing "Vaheguru Vaheguru", it's called Simran. When you sing Gurbani (Guru's words), it's called Kirtan.
