Hello, fellow KDP author/illustrator! Congratulations on your book. I also write/illustrate children's books through KDP and started doing book readings on KZbin for exposure purposes of the books. I was wondering if you market your book this way as well or not? Have you read your book in classrooms/libraries or sold in person?

PLEASE advocate against mindlessly taking SSRI prescriptions. Seeking mental health is a gateway to this pharmaceutical industry cash cow, because healthcare providers are paid based on prescriptions. All school shooters were prescribed SSRIs. Something is off.

I was following your kdp videos, so it is interesting to see that you are writing children's books. Are you not doing kdp anymore? Is the Passiv profit from that enough for you, and now you want to focus on children's books? How would you compare the two? I started with kdp but it is frustrating because I feel like I have not much control over my books' sales and how they are found. When you talk about children's books it seems like you are way more in control of marketing them. Is it because there is less you can do to market kdp books (because of the different niches), or is bit because your books can be easily found with high search keywords and low competition? (which I doubt, right? ) how come no one talks about marketing kdp books externally (like with book sprout) Thanks for the content, you are definitely my number one channel for publishing books! 💕💕

Thanks so much! My children's books are still published through KDP, same as my low content books and I'm still publishing low content books as well as creating children's books too. I don't feel like children's book are any easier to get sales for. In fact, it's probably harder. No matter what kind of books you are creating you will have to find ways to market them. There are more avenues for you to be able to give away free books in return for a review with high content books because they can be read digitally whereas low content books are only useful in physical format so that's probably the only advantage a children's book or high content book has over low content books.

Hi, I have just finished my 1st. Children's story book. It is 32pps and will be the first of many books in a series. Each book is about the worldly adventures of Bella, a little dog that travels the world meeting new friends & having exciting new adventures with them. Thanks so much! And yes, it can be hard to fit things into a very short video while still trying to give lots of details. Yes, the first step is creating the ebook. Download the Kindle Children's Book Creator program (it's free). Upload your manuscript file and it will convert it into a MOBI file which is what you need to upload into KDO to create a Kindle listing. It took me a few goes to work out the software - I may actually do a separate video on that.

You're welcome! The ones I used were Free Booksy, Real Urban Empire on Fiverr, Bargain Booksy, My Book Cave and Robin Reads. I also applied for a Book Bub deal but didn't get it. They all have different genres of books/lists that you can target and each one has a different price but they have price lists on their site.

Thank you! Usually low content books aren't suitable for kindle. You can still publish paperback books through KDP, you don't have to do kindle.

I’d like to learn more about how to create *both* a *print book* and an *ebook kindle version* of our children’s book. I doubt we can use the same file for both, so how can we make sure that both are formatted properly?

KDP has a free program called Kids Kindle Book Creator. Just download that, take your file that you have for your paperback version, pop it in that program and it coverts it to Kindle format for you.

I haven’t tried this program yet but I’m hoping it converts the PDF file into kindle format automatically without us needing to do any technical stuff.

Hi , can you please tell me how you got good quality paper? As my author's copy just got here and the interior seems very bad quality wise. Extremely light paper. And that is supposed to be the premium quality. What advise can you give?

I didn't have a following when I published this book, it was my first book. I didn't notify anyone who subscribes to my KZbin channel because they follow me to learn how to self-publish books, not buy children's books from me. The things I talked about in the video are the things that I did. I didn't run any ads, just paid for some newsletter promos and rand a free promo on Kindle.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you determine what day your book is launching? I understand with KDP you submit it and it will be available within 72 hours. Do you publish in the newsletters and not submit the book in KDP until 72 hours before your launch date?

I published mine in advance and set the date that I wanted it to go live. Then you can make sure it's published without any issues for the date you want it to actually go live.

Most contests I've seen require the book to be actually published but you can then enter from the day your book is published.
