Awesome work guys! Couple points - you might want to get a charge controller with a dump load to control both the battery state of charge and dynamically brake the turbine when the battery is full. Otherwise you'll boil the battery and cause hydrogen gas which could explode. Next point is for us English speakers, we normally use the word "battery" instead of "accumulator". Keep up the awesome work!!

Hi there... how can they make sure the blades dont run out of control when theres high winds?. They dont have an armature that pulls the blades sideways out the way with high winds. Just wondering

@@DiyEcoProjects a charge controller with a dump load will redirect the turbines output to a low resistance load which will dissipate heat. In extreme cases the output of the turbine will actually be short-circuited therefore the load resistance is effectively zero ohms. Power (watts) is calculated by P=(V^2)/R so therefore theoretical power into zero ohms is infinity. Since "infinite power" isn't possible, the result is that the turbine rotor will dynamically brake and almost stop.

This is a wonderful house: Small car trench in the garage, a connected greenhouse, and a pigsty! I'm sure you also have a substantial garden produce. 1000W is enough, with LED light, fridge, PC and TV. The dump resistors could be used to heat water, doubling as heating storage and hot water supply! There is another Ukrainian guy making solar collectors of cheap materials, You Kerosan was actually in one of his videos, petting his dog, so you know him! This house has great potential to be completely environmental neutral.

Love the wind turbine it’s about the most efficient DIY one I’ve seen on YT, btw love hearing you say ‘Comrade’, I’m in UK, but my political influences were Tolstoy, Kropotkin etc. It’s a bit hard to understand all you say but I get the ‘gist of it’. Keep up the great work lads, one more thing, I just love the way people in Eastern European countries are so practical and are so good at improvisation, for example I never thought about plugging the power straight into a Wall socket so the whole house is connected to the generator. I know it is obvious now I’ve seen it done, but it never occurred to me that power can entered the house wiring via a Wall socket!. Love you guys!

Here are somethings i really recommend you doing. Balance the blades of your generator. This much shaking will cause material fatigue really fast and break. It will also not allow it to spin as fast as it could due to the energy looses to the shaking. It will also reduce the amount of noise its producing. Add a RPM meter or/and a wind speed meter and a breaker. If the wind is too strong it can spin too fast and due to inertia (most know as centrifugal force) it can explode. To know what RPM you should stop it you must read about the tensile/traction resistance of the material you build the blades, its length and its weight. Depending on the values you find keep it between 25~40% below the maximum speed. Move the blades forward. With strong wind the blades bend back and will hit the post at high speed and break. Reinforce tho post with tensioned cables or by firmly attaching it to the wall. It will also help reduce the shaking. Instead of using cables use rail and spring load brushes to conduct the electricity. It will eliminate the problem of the cable warping on the post overtime.

you made me think about a thing... how about a pillar on the center of the fan that is like 0.5 metres long and has three bicycle brakes wires attached that pull the blades straight? this should make the thing almost indesctructible i think

@@redoverdrivetheunstoppable4637 Cables in front of the blades would produce vortexes reducing the blades efficiency and it would only prevent them from bending back but not from exploding from exceeding its maximum tensile/traction resistance due to centrifugal force at high RPM. To increase its tensile/traction resistance you would need to run cables inside the blades. Its the same concept reinforced concrete we add cables to increase its of resistance to being stretched in the direction the cable is installed.

@@vitor900000 well.. i specified thin cables on pourpose, not sure how much it would affect the system at this point, your concept of bending onto wind seems really likely but that thing really needs to spin fast to explode for centrifugal force, it's a piece of PVC tubing, some airplane blades are made of wood, there are like 100 horse power on em... but balancing is highly suggested anyways

Thank you guys from Australia. I'm building a cheap catamaran that I will use 2x 2 HP electric motors as well as a home made sail. I have been thinking about using Vertical Axis Wind Turbines with electric motors to generate power for the electric motors during the night because solar is out, plus you can't go that fast with 1 small sail up at night. Now I can buy 2x 5000w bicycle motors for 260 USD each which is very cheap & I won't need them to spin that fast to get the full 5000 watts each but the idea is perfect for my needs & cheap.

Motors draw nore energy when they have a load on them (like speeding themselves up) and it drops the voltage a bit (and some bad brushed motors might make small short circuits when spinning at low speed)

The wire must be inside the wind turbine shaft to avoid the wire to twist on the pole shaft over time. The wire have a risk to break if It's stuck on the pole. By the way, really great job by making a cheap and reliable wind turbine. Usually, this kind of wind turbine cost 800 us$. Don't forget to use white lithium grease to grease the wind turbine bearings.

Because it's an effort to pump it out of the ground and build the machines that can use it and produce power/work from it. Same with this windmill: It takes a lot of effort to get the material for the motor, the batteries, the blades, the cables etc. out of the ground and build everything together. The only difference is: Instead of oil the wind turbine uses wind as fuel. But wind has a very low power density of only about 2W/m2. Whilst a coal oven can produce 10.000W/m2 with ease. That's why wind turbines are highly inefficient: They need to be huge in order to being able to harvest a decent amount of energy in time. This wind turbine here is very little leading to an only 90W peak power. Wind turbines usually have efficiences lower than 25%. Meaning: in 75% of the time they do not produce power. This one here is - for sure - very bad. Probably has a huge stall angle and will produce power only at higher wind speeds perhaps with an efficiency of about 10%. So in average you'll get around 10Wh from this system. If you store the power in a battery together with all the loses over the AC/DC and back to AC conversion you'll lose about 50% of that. So this system will provide you with perhaps as little as 5Wh average energy. Or in other words: You will need to wait about 100 hours (~4 days) in order to be able to dustclean your house for 10 minutes. That's the reality of this "free energy" which is - if you look closely - very expensive. Because you have to buy all this stuff, manufacture it, set it up, maintain it, repair it and then you need the batteries as well to make it useable at all. What you see in this video is not the windmill giving the power. You only see a 12V battery powering some lights and a TV for a couple of seconds. And that's pretty much the limit of this system. It can't do much more than what you see in this video: Power a few electric appliances for a short amount of time. You could not power a refridgerator, computer, or something that you need to be able to rely on. That's why it's just a hobby. Understand?
