The ring and pinion got ate up pretty good. Initial problem turns out was a pin on the dog bone coming out hitting arm. As far as balancing goes, I felt the need as they were $150.00 and I want them to last and a noticeable difference.

You do the right thing. I explained it to him. I too balance mine. Not to make them last longer. Actually. That won’t help for that. Blocking the vent holes helps them last.i just balance to tamper down the shaking & smooth up the higher speed tire turns. It helps to keep bearings last with the arm pins by keeping them tighter with how they fit & it helps screws from working lose also. That guy is a air plane guy. Lol. I think That’s why he dint understand. Lol.

David. Contact traxxas and they’ll send you parts for free if you explain it’s a new car . I always go through my RCs when I buy them and tighten up screws for that very reason. I just don’t like waiting even tho they will send parts for a new car. Especially with arrma’s. They are the worst for leaving screws lose or no locktite.

@@Chon-c Traxxas has been awesome on replacing parts. I’ve had 3 pins come out on the axles and tear up arms and of coarse the ring and pinion. The stock ring and pinion is on backorder so I purchased the upgrade and had it in 2 days. Mine get cleaned and checked after each days use. My Typhon was plagued with loose screws new.

@@iaqmaster O. Ok. Cool. Good thing for you to do to check after runs. I go through mine and strip them down when I buy. To loctite everything and tighten screws . Especially with a new release of car like you got. They get better built after initial runs/orders from where they are built. Quality check standards are low for most new releases I’ve found. But You keep balancing them tires. Especially the belted. It’s a good thing to do. More people will realize that as they learn the common issues with belted tyrs. They are the worst for being out of balance. Unlike non belted . You’ll notice in the reviews of them where people complain about the shaking. That’s why. Especially with those new proline like you have. Awesome tire tho. They just have to be balanced. Because a person doesn’t know how bad out of balance they’ll come from factory. Btw ? Get that traxxas blue Loctit. It’s the best . Better than regular loctite It’s a ticker drying blue. Sort of a in between of the red & blue for holding. Without making things a bitch to unscrew lol like the red.

Wow my mx38 non-belted badlands weigh in at 17 .1 ounces each. Comparing to the stock Redcat Shredder tires that I replaced that were only 10 ounces each (definitely will be shreddin' the Shredder's diffs a lot faster)

Sir, whats your take: I have a lot of RC-cars. We got the JLB Cheetah JLB J3Speed a Slash Project Rock Rey 1:10 On the 8th-scale-bench is the UDR Mojave EXB with 49 can motor fully fuuuully modded E-Revo 2.0 Virus 6S (classic Typhoon-style buggy) and then there is the SBR 2.0 So I have 3 scale desert rigs. I am a little bit worried about the UDR with all its planetary gears. My friends have them to and the rattling noises they make meanwhile are scare me a bit. My UDR is quite fresh and I don't want to wait for it to start making problems (will it? Whats your experiecne on this?). I could sell the E-Revo and the UDR and would have budget for a new car and I have 3 options in mind: 1. the new Sledge with upgrades 2. an scratchbuilt Xmaxx from upgrade-parts only 3. an 8S Kraton scratchbuilt from upgrade-parts only I want to build a hard basher with diffs that give me no headache, thats what the Sledge would be best for but what would you do, Sir?

I shall never be convinced that belted, full size tires are good for bashing. Ballooning can be a problem when trying to hit full speed sends, but the belted ones are juts too heavy. Eats up ring and pinion gears, damages/breaks driveshafts, it’ll overheat quicker, massive reduction in mid-air control, lands harder. No thanks for this guy. Tried it twice to be sure. Never again. And anyone new that asked me I would tell them exactly that. This holds most true if you truly bash hard. I’m talking big, 40+ high sends. You will break everything.

Balancing an off road tire/wheel? 🤷🤯 WHY? 1st damp/wet track run, asphalt speed run, etc the balance is even more outta balance? I can see balancing an oval tire where the surface u run on is always consistent. 😜
@Chon-c
@Chon-c 2 жыл бұрын
Not really. I balance mine too. & Cover breather holes. It helps ,even on bashers if you run at least 50 mph and more power in them . I’m sure you’ve seen shaking arms on backflips . Well…That’s why you balance them . It helps with a few other things than just looks. That’s how most of your screws come lose too. And running on asphalt is common . Nobody just drives on one terrain all of the time. Especially with a basher.
