Gavin, I bought the Generac IQ3500 after your review. That unit is so quiet at the 1200 watt load that it sees on a regular basis. It exists to charge lithium batteries when the solar isn't enough. My larger battery pack needs 240 volts for its charger. I think I will go for this unit as it is so nice and quiet. It needs to run about 3200 watts max for the battery charger. I have a 7500 Onan diesel gen set but the noise loosens the fillings in my teeth and the stink reminds me of standing behind the school bus when I was a kid. So, I came in from the shop and pulled up your name and watched your 7 generator whole house unit review. I will order one Monday. Hey....maybe 2 of them. This is Ca and the sale of new gen sets will be outlawed after 1/1/2024. Thanks for your great work!

What about adding an LP kit to the Power-horse 7500i? Other options would be a dual fuel model you have shown before but I really like the dB level of this machine. I’m adding a soft start to my 5 ton Lennox AC soon, this Power-horse should keep things going for me.

Eco mode on all the time, 100% more efficient. As of today I have never had a need to run my generators with Eco mode off, even with the welders. That is a good generator, Honda clone except for one thing it lacks: fuel injection.

Honda needs to update their EU7000is to this exact front panel design, increase their power output, lower sound output, and lower their price to make their generator more desirable then the PowerHorse 7500I. JMO

Can I ask what is the model number of your condensing unit? Curious what the LRA is without the soft starter and what the unit's efficiency rating is. Also, does it use a TXV or piston to regulate refrigerant pressure? Trying to compare it to my 4-ton Lennox which is borderline for my Honda generator.

Hey My LRA is 76 and the efficiency rating is 16 seers With the soft start installed I’m down to 39 amps starting

@@GeneratorReviews OK...my Lennox HS26-048 is 129 LRA, with the EasyStart bringing it down to about 55A. I doubt the Honda will be able to start it, especially since I'm running on natural gas. Two in parallel would definitely do it.

Gavin, in your opinion, is the Powerhouse 7500i or the Pulsar 9500 dual fuel you reviewed which one is the better build? I can easily add an LP kit to the Powerhorse which would then equal the price of the Pulsar 9500 dual fuel. Either would work for me but I want the best build quality, thanks Gavin.

In my opinion, adding a kit to the generator will not give you the same quality you’re looking for, the Pulsar and Genmax are both the same. If you were comparing pulsar 9500 to the Genmax, 9000 or 10,500 tri fuel , that would be a closer comparison.

Hey Gavin. I see in the manual for the 7500i it says that you can't run them in eco mode when you parallel them together. Is this just them (Northern Tool) being over cautious, or is there a reason they say this? I would really love to buy 2 of these and run them in parallel, but not if I can't run them in eco mode.

I choose this one the price it’s quieter than the Honda and actually Ran the AC better. The Honda is a little more fuel efficient, but not by much

I think you should be fine with that the soft start really helps with running other loads at the same time so the AC doesn’t consume all the starting wattage

That’s a tough one they’re both great generators around the same size but the predator have 9500 starting but I really like that 50 amp plug. I would have to go with the 7500 if it was my personal choice it’s the quietest generator. It’s quieter than the Honda.
