Powering a HPE BladeSystem c7000 Fan ~ 70 Watts

In this Video I'll show you how to power up an HP Fan from an old HPE BladeSystem c7000.
Info: The bottom contacts of the circuit board are isolated with tape and neither connected to 12V nor to Ground!
Info 2: The electrical power (Voltage * Amperage) the fan consumes is not equal the rotational power (wind/pressure) of the fan.

It looks like that the c3000 uses the same Fans.

Believe it or not, these exact server fans are advertised as ELECTRIC TURBOCHARGERS on Amazon and eBay! And not too expensive either.

Looks like you can replace the bad controller with a R/C ESC.

Hey, you're showing two completely different cable setups. The one at the beginning, and the 'detailed' one near the end. I've tried both and failed, can you explain it more clearly in text? if you're still alive.

Hi.. There are 6 pins on the socket, left-right: V-, pin2, pin3, pin4, pin5, V+. I have information about pin2 & pin3 are for low & high speed function. Low speed short/contact pin2+pin3, high speed not short/contact. I dont have original driver board. Have you approved/tried this information about pin2 & pin3? Thank you.

Great video. Is all the input 12v? So also the green and yellow? Why is it not putting out the full 16.5A at 12v you think? Some kind of RPM limitation? If you give it more back pressure perhaps it will consume more power?

Зачем над "дедушкой" издеваетесь? Подключите нормально и будет он вам дуть на полные 200Вт... При 12в ток потребления должен быть 16.5-17А
