That alone should make the entire encounter not only unlawful. But officers who can't accurately state the legislation they are using should be criminally prosecuted. The most dangerous officer is one who doesn't know the law. Why because that means they don't know where their powers and authority starts and ends. Thus they are the most likely to be a danger to society.

I understand her pov though she probably has a stressful job, has a duty to find out what this guy is doing. Most people just answer the police so instead of being extra polite she probably just thought she would quickly find out why he is doing what he is doing and then get on with her day. She didn't expect the guy to know his rights and understand the law better than her. The trick is here that hopefully that lady has learnt from this, she doesn't seem like a bad person just needs to switch up her attitude. AB is the man I just hope these police are learning. There's bad and good in everything and all work places and environments.

@Niall . Totally agree. Its clear all they wanted was to ID AB and AB prevented them from doing that as under Section 1 of PACE they had no reasonable grounds for a stop and search. Sadly AB has just lost out on at least another £1500 and more likely closer to £2500. You should have let her unlawfully continue to detain you and then illegally search you. Think of the pleasure you could have had again AB filming yourself handing out all that compensation money again.

But now im starting to see similaritys between most europeans countrys, and also sweden. They all keep doing the same paranoid unlawfull clampdowns, it wont end well if we dont act.

1. Unlawful detention under section 1 of PACE (no reasonable grounds to believe AB has stollen goods) 2. Attempt of an unlawful search under section 1 of PACE 3. By law they should say what they expect to find 4. Unreasonably extending the detention for the duration of the "speech" (you can not be detained for the purpose of "I want to tell you") 5. Unreasonable use of police resources for just a single person doing a perfectly legal activity It's amazing how much police misconduct got exposed in just this one video. Amazing work, thank you AB.

As an ex-police officer these women are an embarrassment to the job. She has nothing on him but is too prideful and stupid to just walk away. In my training we were taught to de-escalate not escalate incidents. Instead, she called more and more officers, resulting in a massive loss of face for the entire station.

When he went to search you and you asked what powers, he said, "What one do you want me to use?"- means he doesn't really have a reason to search you. "Let's get this over and done with" and "We'll be on our way". All of this is telling of his intentions, which is not to discover that you are a terrorist with weapons and lists of potential targets, or evidence on your person. The whole reason is to give you a hard time, as a kind of lesson because they don't like how you're acting.

The sole reason this is done, is to identify the individual. Which they have no right to do without the suspicion of a crime, been/being/going to be, committed. Acting in their version of a suspicious person does not give them grounds to identify that individual.

Not the (US v the public) policing we get these days These auditors agree or don't agree but the bottom line is the police despite year on year extending their powers over us (never did I "have" to identify) if no crime was committed so more powers but crime rates (despite the heavy massage that they got for public consumption) no better. I have seen crooks treated better than normal people in interactions with police. He might not be a beat cop, well not the kind you are, the general public see how you behave, and sorry despite your personal biased view no one sees you as a help to the public and it's getting worse

@@iangrimshaw1 in all seriousness I know you’re a bootlicker so I’ll explain: we value our Rights, and don’t wish for them to be infringed. By auditing we get to see where the police are currently at with their respect for our Rights, and at present the situation is improving gauging by their responses, although we still get numpties like the ones seen in this video (which hopefully won’t happen again as they’ve learnt their lesson). You may not value your Rights that much, but you’d be very sad indeed if they actually disappeared. So you ought to thank AB for fighting not only for your Rights, but also the Rights of everybody in the UK. _Hope this helps._

That was amazing to watch. The way they try and use bullying, intimidating tactics disguised and wrapped up in a nice package to encourage you to comply. That broke their hearts having to let you go, she could barely speak the words "You are free to go", she was in agony saying it, and only did under serious duress from AB. This is a powerful video and one I hope many people learn from. The police themselves would do very well to use this as an educational tool and earn the respect from the public who they are here to serve, not control.

Hence does not want to give his name and certainly not his collar number because he is not a proper cop. Therefore the search would have been unlawful. They need to go back to school to start again. One so called police woman in an orange type shirt and one stupid girl in a uniform shaking her head at the end. Trouble is women panic and call for the cavalry. They all do it in every video and in the end there is a hoard of them. Shocking waste of time and money. I've never seen one auditor breaking the laws, least of all AB.

The first officer said he was going to search you to get ID. ILLEGAL SEARCH. Then he said section 32 which is a search after arrest. They never told you the object of the search or what they were looking for. They are supposed to give you GOWISLEY and they never did. Unbelievably poor knowledge. You can still sue as they said you were detained.
