Great job Stacey. I have been building my 57 chevy stepside for the last five years. I have had this truck since I was 5yr old and it took 2 thumbs to open the door and I had to make the motor sound myself. It had 9000 org miles on it and sit under a walnut tree for 13 years. In 1970 I was 11 my grand father handed me the keys and the title to it. 5 yrs ago took it apart sand blasted & powder primed drove to LA and picked up my 4 link chassis from Total cost involved . I built a 383 stroker & 700r4 and primed & blocked and today painted it Root beer candy with 9 pearls in it . I hope to finish next mount. So I know how much work it took . Perhaps I will send you a photo upon completion. J>-W-> PS I watched Gears for years. So I"m a fan of your shows Thanks.

I built a 67 very similar to this one back in the early 80's. It is almost like he copied mine but he went much further and nicer than mine. I had a 427 big block with turbo 400 but no overdrive. Exactly the same color and I had three darker brown stripes going up across the doors following the slant of the front of the door and across the top. Part of the stripes were on the back of the cab just above the window and part of them were on top. I doubt if mine would run as fast as this one, but it was plenty mean!!!

you missed the whole point of this build. the point was you can build something like this. small block 350 that was rebuild from pretty much any chevy car/truck so long as the block isn't cracked. the bed sided on this truck are 510.00 a peace so about 1,100 counting tax and shipping that is if youre starting like he did cab and a frame. im currently working on a 73 el camino and im in about 1,200 for new breaks, floors pans, basic maintenance, and will probably spend about another 6K in it before im done. as the old saying goes can't never could. if you have a job sit the fuck down look at what your paying out and find a way to shrink what is going out,if you have credit card dept you need to destroy your credit card and get your dept down before anything else, learn to save like i have and you can build something like this.

Sure, the new hosts are great talented mechanics, but I think the people who run the show made some bad decisions with letting people go who really needed to stay.. Just my opinion on it 😉 Cheers to everyone 🍺🍺😎

All useful information that we can use in our own builds! One host, not competing for attention and fame with the other bearded tattoo idiots on the show to see who is the funniest! This latest generation is all about "me" in everything that they do. KZbin is the greatest because you can still find gems like this... Made before the reality TV generation took over car shows.

really kind of worthless. Bed too nice to haul anything, Way too much power, it won't hook up... all that power is wasted. Why even bother with the nitrous when you can't hook it up without it? Too thirsty to drive a lot... cool to look at, that's about it. Not practical at all. Way over done. Why not spend the money and time building something useful?
