there is so much wrong with these ancient designs. all turbine wheels need to have seal brushes to minimize blowby pressure losses. all stages need to be lined up to minimize the use of seals which add to frictional losses.

My guess would be 3DS max, Blender, or MAYA. All these software have a steep learning curve, and 100s of hours needs to be put in to make a quality 3d model like this.

Steam turbine is not a Heat Engine! Its a Prime mover. Yes the whole Rankine cycle is a Heat Engine which includes the boiler, BFW pumps, condensers etc
