Stephen Carrington, England. Slide Master is an important but difficult enough to understand even wuth a proficient English speaker. With the crass music, dodgy microphone & your not giving enough time or expanation of what/where you're clicking a learner has no chance. Pity,as we need some good tutorials on this exact topic

Diogo Roldao, could You please explain again how You applied the styles for different text levels (9:13)? What keys did you tap to have that effect of automatic apllication of style to the next level of text?

Slide master is more trouble than it's worth. If you work in corporate enterprise and have to deal with this s*, on a daily basis where teams are editing the same powerpoint deck, you'll understand just how much a bane slide master really is. Genuinely would be easier without it. What it's intended to solve, it only solves, if it's exclusively your deck. You think copying and pasting to align s* on a 300 slide deck is tedious? Slide master is slideception. An additional dimension, containing other dimensions, that you have to argue with before you can even start to progress on cleaning your deck.

Thx fo your comment. My opinion is different. I do see value on it and how Luc time it saves you whej creating decks. Maybe the templates you received were poorly done and you couldn't the see the value of them

@@diogoroldao-officetothepoi610 No, it's probably more to do with the fact that I work in a corporate environment where multiple slides from various decks, both from separate internal departments within the firm, and from external sources (Clients) end up all being dumped into the same deck, making it an absolute vvh0r3, to work with. If it's an individual or small team producing a 'cut and dry' presentation, it works, but if your deck is a highly sensitive compact document with mountains of information, figures, analysis, it actually ends up being a hinderence, because 'fixing' the layouts, is actually rather time intensive, and will almost universally 'break' more than it fixes. It would be much quicker and easier to run through all 200 slides, removing all the baggage and copy paste what I need to make it all uniform without compromising content presentability Instead of this, I have the additional challenge of being forced to 'argue' with slide master and layouts, meticulously keeping track of each slide and it's layout, deleting, editing, and going back and fourth. (If I try to transpose one slide, from an unwanted layout, to an existing, desired layout, it wrecks the content, meaning I then have to go back and fourth, editing the slide, and the layout, deleting lingering BS, etc. It's so much extra work. More work than if slide master, wasn't there, because then I'd 'just' have to deal with the slides themselves) We're dealing with comprehensive solution plans for RFP responses, which makes all of this very time intensive, and adds an additional dimension of work. Ideally, what we need is a smart feature capable of sweeping through the entire deck, and refactoring/formatting everything, with the competency and intelligence to not compromise content presentability. Give it one primary theme to work with, throw in all your extra slides, and have the program refactor and reformat the entire deck, and use AI to determine the most suitable positions for content that doesn't match an explicit predefined layout. (Be able to identify 'rogue' page numbers, disclaimers, copyrights, distinguish between specific types of text, table, chart, and numeric content, and format according to company/department profile). Slide Master is a step towards progress, for the little man, but because it's still relatively basic, and as such, is more a hinderence than an aid, at least in the context of my work environment.

Such a complete perspective. I also work in corporate and face this same challenge as you. I ended up giving up of trying to make everything perfect, the slides from others perfect. Mines I do it perfectly, using 1 single template and so. From others I don't care anymore and just leave them like that. I gave trainings in ym company to teach people how to use PowerPoint correctly but trust me that 90% of people won't get it and won't use PowerPoint right. I also don't like the fact that PowerPoint "smartly" brings entire slide master when you copy/paste selfies from other deck to build your story. To make that up I realize that at the end all what we need is to make that slide small and able to send in an email or radply used thru SharePoint. I have created this video here to teach how to make a slide lighter, check it out. I use it all the time, almost every day
