LOL - I have it, it's a bit tricky. Put a "text placeholder" above the "picture placeholder" in the Slide Master. Choose the text placeholder and use the function "Fill/Picture or texture fill" and choose the picture of logo. That's the way a text field will look like a logo and will be above the picture placeholder. It is too bad the logo can not be a vector. But it works! You can edit your video :)

Haha that's not bad, nice one :D I have always made the same trick with making pictures transparent because previously PowerPoint didn't have an "opacity" feature for pictures, only for shapes. So you always had to place a shape, fill it with a picture, size it properly and simply increase the transparency of that shape. Idk why PowerPoint tries to be so stupid sometimes. Microsoft doesn't change much in those low priorty features :/

Man i hate Powerpoint, its insane that Microsoft is a multi billion dollar company and still has such shitty standard. As a designer that works with Powerpoint it baffles me how few features Powerpoint fail to do.

I know, but its too big of a company to get in the nitty gritty of it and they just let it fly the old ways it feels. :/

Thanks. That's exactly my problem as well. Incredible we are still waiting for a solution for something that should be quite easy to implement. I need exactly to do what you are showing here, but the object in front of the pictures is semi transparent, that's why your workaround does not work for me. But great idea, thank you. :)

Yeah I don't think Microsoft is changing how it works anytime soon :/ it is what it is :)

Hey Andrew, I'm using the same technique as you. However, I just received a template where the client's logo is always placed above the picture placeholder. I'm not quite sure how it's achieved, but I'll keep you posted if I find out.

Paweł you sadly won't get it! Elements and shapes like logos or ppt shapes take priority and always cover up our poor sad placeholders. This is why we can't properly make templates with nice overlays under or over picture placeholders. PowerPoint should allow us to "choose" or specify if we want it over or under but sadly its hard-coded into PowerPoint and we have no control over it ;/

I thought the same until I saw a template with a logo above the picture. Please check my new comment. It's a trick and has limitations but It' works.@@andrewpach

There is a workaround here. Copy the logo (CMD+C) that you want to use and create a media placeholder. Then select 'Picture or texture fill' and in Picture source select 'Clipboard'. Your logo should appeared into that box. Media placeholders will stay on top of images (and will also remain moveable) so it solves your issue. What you cannot do however is edit the placeholder's points and fully customise it's appearance the way you can do for a shape placeholder.

What if i want the shape to have an opacity... so I need the image to be seen below it
@andrewpach Жыл бұрын
Sadly from what I know PowerPoint will always default the placeholders on the bottom so you sadl'y can't make the shape transparent. I know I love overlays too and make different colors with gradients but they need to be put manually over the picture on the PowerPoint slide itself
@AkramSays Жыл бұрын
Maybe you can add another image placeholder and choose a default photo
