Thank you very much! I learned something there. Point from my side: If users need to ask if they can close an application (f.e. to save data) and the exe file is not recognisable to the user, -> "What is msedge?"

Being new to this tool, correct me if I understood something wrong, we need to download the e.g. Google Chrom file and keep it in system before we open the PSDAT so that PSDAT can pick up and push it further.

@@littletoes6622 you have to download the file you want to install, correct. Then you place it in the files folder and use PSADT to execute it.

Thank you so much this is very helpful. I am deploying a VPN application and I wanted to have the "Defer" option to have some sort of time on when can it remind the user again. do you have an example for that? Like on the welcome installation message, I wanted to put an option where the user can select like 30 mins, 1hr, or 1 day before the installation can come back to remind the user again to install. hope that makes sense. thanks again.

Hi Christian Thank you for your comment! The defer time cannot be set because it must be your deployment system that start you application again. What happens when you press defer, is that it creat an error. The deployment system will se that the detection method was never fulfilled and will at the configured time, try to retry the app. Using configuration manager you can change the application reevaluation time. Using Intune then you have to wait 24 hours before it retry the app automatically

@@MSEndpointMgr yes i am actually planning to deploy this through mecm via an application. However i noticed that you can only have a recurring option on a package. If i deploy this through an application or a package on mecm, is that doable? Do you have samples?

@@christianafrica yes it is doable. I would always use the application model. It will work by default. Once the user defer, it will fail with an error code. Once the application detection re-evaluation run on the device, it will start the dialog for PSADT again, and the user will have one less defer count

@@MSEndpointMgr hello again! Just got another question please. Question: If I have an active app deployment using psadt via mecm, is it okay to edit the parameters while deployment is active? I used a deadline parameter. Deadline at the moment is October 14,2022 and deadline needs to be changed to October 28,2022. Will there any implications if i go ahead and edit it while deployment is active on my collections provided I redistribute the content to all DPs? Thank you!!!

@@christianafrica hi Christian You can proceed editing. What will happen: Already succeeded installations will not do anything. Delayed installations will retry and download the newest content before continuing.

What do you think the most common title would be for someone who does all this (config/build/deploy/manage AAD/intune). Would it be system administrator or IT administrator or something else? What would differentiate System Administrator from System Engineer?

Very good question. Titles are unfortunately very widely used. System engineer would be my best guess

hmm yes, you could code that, but not a standard function within the toolkit. I am currious to hear what the specific scenario is here

​@@MSEndpointMgr Sometimes the package is getting old and I'm lazy to search every package that I need when got old. Would be insteresting to just delete (or make the script notice it is a old package) the content of the folder and when I run the script, it notices that doesn't have the package and download it again

@@JobsonGabriel it could be one way of doing it, but then I'd rather recommend to use something that is more evergreen like winget or evergreen powershell modules. PSADT is more of a static framework for a given package. You can of course run commands that would download the source.
