Also worth a mention, having a save game of this and Duke Nukem on the Saturns memory was the easier way to access "Death Tank" on Duke Nukem.

The lighting here looks so much better than on the PS1 version.

Oh, it's hands down the superior version. It has only been in recent years that I think people are starting to really critically reflect on what the Saturn ports of games actually performed like and it's almost always with surprise or adulation.

@@ItsCoolFromSaturn Besides this game and Duke3D I don't know much about Saturn ports. (I know Quake runs on the same engine as well, but I'm not really a Quake guy)

I never played this game. But this review kinda makes me wanna dig out the Saturn and give it a go. Because of the 3d aspect of this game. Does it use that analog controller at all or played with the default gamepad?
@ItsCoolFromSaturn2 жыл бұрын
It predates the controller and doesn't support it in the same way something like Duke Nukem 3D does. It plays perfectly well with the standard pad though.

Never got far, as the levels were so confusing and the early enemies lame. I gave it a few tries...

They're meant to be easy to kill because you've just started playing the game. Additionally, the levels aren't in any way confusing. Ramses flat out tells you where you need to go and what you need to do. Then you just need to find the camel that reads the same name of the place that Ramses told you to go in. The only levels that are really confusing don't come up until you're almost done with the game anyway.
