This could be a game changer for nervous beginners! Great work! 🙏

Hi P.S. team. It is nice to see you have developed a new brake. I live in New Zealand and there are no "flat places" if you think going to work or going around the CBD or going between neighbourhoods here. I am excited to try this one. My wheels don't last long because everywhere is up and downhill. In every city around the world, people are leaving their cars at home and trying something healthy and environmentally friendly. I would love to commute with my inline skates but because it doesn't have brakes it is an issue during the traffic especially when it comes downhill where it is everywhere in New Zealand. I have tried a few times to go to work but it's dangerous with intersections, pedestrians crossing the roads during the rush time, bikes ... When we don't have brakes. Hence I chose to go cycling when I am not feeling like driving or I don't want to be stuck during the commute in a rush time. I am sure with reliable brakes it could be a game changer and the inline skates could get a lot more people choosing to commute by inline skates. It means inline skates getting a big slice of the cake whereas the bikes are massively getting it. Inline skates are much more fun, people get fit better than the bike just sitting on the saddle pedalling (it doesn't mean it is not a nice cardio workout), and it has a unique kind of freedom feeling that just inline skaters experience. It would be awesome to see more videos about it. Well done.

Love the concept. Do you know if you can easily come to a full stop going downhill just with the brakes? I was wondering for steep narrow dowhill sections like for narrow underway passages.

Cool! 😃👍 Will you make a product video just about the new braking system?

I was always looking for a good bracking system. Very interesting. How about driving a corner really fast and crossing your feed. Is that also possible without activating the brake?
@rocketeer6713 Жыл бұрын
Looks really cool! My only concern would be accidentally triggering the brake, but can you change how far out you have to stick your leg before the brake engages?
@jcardin2 Жыл бұрын
You adjust the turnbuckle to change the arm length so it either brakes with more or less effort. It is hard to activate accidentally due to spring resistance.

@@rocketeer6713 good to know! I am currently looking at buying these skates and my only concern was accidently activating the break system and eating shit on asphalt

Nutzen sich dann die Räder am Inliner mit der Bremse schneller ab? Will the wheels on the inliner with the brake wear out faster?
@Bonowombo Жыл бұрын
Ist es mit der Syncro-Bremse möglich, auch steilere Berge langsam und gefahrlos hinunterzufahren? Falls nicht, was ist in etwa die maximale Steigung, bei der die Bremse noch funktioniert? Infos hierzu wäre toll...

yes it is possible to use in down slope. of course not like 20% but regular slope it should be good

Speed on 110 wheels is the thing that scary me as a beginner. I feel comfortable riding fast on a ice skates, on a nordic skis, on a bike, but inline skates is completely different thing. I can't stop fast. My skills on a ice means nothing on an asphalt :( I can't easily repeat stops from ice on asphalt, cause it is scary :) The braking movement on the skates with Synchro Brake System does not seem intuitive and natural. You can let this brake system go out of your head for a while and then fly face forward onto the asphalt. It seems to me that the brake on inline skates should be activated by hand, by something like a cable on bicycles. To avoid cable interferation/crossing with the movement of the legs, the brake should be somewhere on the hip/belt so that the cable length will be as short as possible. Brake should be activated by something like a handle-grip (like on a bike) or a large button for pressing with the palm. And brake should be for each leg, not only one single brake. This idea seems much more natural and intuitive in my opinion.

Could you buy the braking system and fit it to the Powerslide next boots?
@jcardin2 Жыл бұрын
Yes but you have to drill two holes on the Next cuff to mount it. Mount it as low on the cuff as possible.

One thing that would lessen braking ability is if your wheels develop a natural rocker or you change the middle wheel with a bigger/newer one and the middle wheel is now bigger than the other wheel or wheels on the braking skate. Only two wheels will then touch the ground and with your braking foot forward, the front toe wheel will not be slowed by the brake as it would be slightly off the ground. The solution requires either a rockerable frame/axle and/or extra care when rotating wheels so all wheels touch the ground with no apparent rocker. Correct?

I heard that there's a way to use a tool to lock the wheels in a braked position, for walking indoors. Is this true? and if so, how is it done?

Yes it adds some weight. I don’t like the long flat wheelbase but it makes it more stable.
