Well what a fantastic addition in the lever gym hack series! Thanks so much for sharing your daisy chain ideas. My personal favorites are the dips which i am keen to try as the bench attactment is easy to max out and yet incomfortable on my hands. The lat pulldown as it seems like a fine variation. Also the dumbell lift offs seem like a handy idea. Not too big on heavy dumbells myself most of the time, but it is good to know there is an option there to try out. Great job as always and tha ks again.

Thank you so much. I cut the grips off my dip attachment and like it better because its diameter was aggravating a joint in my thumb. If you can max out the attachment, you’ll definitely be able to max out the 300 pound capacity of the cable system.
@johnpain8380
@johnpain8380 7 ай бұрын
Oh really? So you cut the grips off the dip attachment.. That is an interesting idea. Due to experiences of commercial machines in the past that have had uncomfortable thin grip handles, I went the other way - trying to thicken up the grip on the powertec dip attachment in order to try and 'pad it out', but it wasn't really helpful sadly. I will consider your option of cutting the grips off, but think carefully as I may choose to sell it due also in part to the max out issue, it is sitting pretty but unused in the attachment holder not having been in my rotation of exercises for a while now. The only time I use it is if I choose to use it as a superset tool after benching or 'real' dipping in order to fry out the triceps, hence to be pre fatigued so I can make the max load + work. With all the great options we have to do that however, this tool but just one option when doing that on occasion. It certainly is a pity as if the machine could handle more weight and the handles were comfortable to use with higher weight and/or higher reps, there is nothing wrong with the lever action. Even when I had a powertec power rack, I remember, those knurled free weight dip handles that came as standard were not the most comfortable things in the world on the palms of the hands. The handles on the lever gym for dips I find, while not 'perfect' are definitely somewhat better and the plug in dip handles on my 11 gauge 75mm box section rack although bulky, are surprisingly comfortable also, relatively speaking once plugged in. I do think as fantastic and as versatile the designers are at powertec, with the lever gym in of itself in my opinion being the flagship of foundational excellence of versatility, there are still in 2024 some bugs that can be worked out, and minor upgrades both here and there, on the product lines to be had. As I side note I do prefer axle bars and thick bars and thick cable attachment bars on the most part. I am talking 40mm for pulling and 50-60mm for pressing, yet not too keen on fat gripz given the choice due to the feel and the gap they leave as not to be fully closed. I do however concur that cutting the handle material off the powertec dip attachment may be worth a look into if I do decide to keep it, and then perhaps mod out with padding from there if still not content? Credit where credit is due, powertec on the whole have got a gem of a machine in the lever gym as you well know! Although I would love to see a weight stack on there in a future suped up "cable-lever gym" option, the lever gym I think is simply fantastic for it's convenience of set up overall and versititly for it's small foot print. On the note of credit due, you take the machines potential to new heights of versititly and part 7 is a very fine addition to that point. You should be very happy with your work here and thankyou again for sharing HGHR. Top stuff 💪👊

@@johnpain8380 I really appreciate your comment and I’m glad you are equally happy with the Levergym. I have sent Powertec a few suggestions over the years and I hope some of those ideas make it to the next iteration of this machine should there be one in the future. I stopped sharing ideas for the machine publicly because, if I have an idea that’s really good, I want Powertec to be privy to it. Exactly, one those grips come off the attachment, there’s no getting them back. I had every fat grip there is and some of the variations like the Ngage Grips. I sold all of them because it hurt my messed up thumb too bad. Hopefully you can find a way you like using the attachment. I don’t recommend it, but I’ve gone over 200 pounds on the attachment regularly. Thanks again!

@johnpain8380 7 ай бұрын
It is my pleasure and thanks for the detailed 'off the trail' information. Likewise it is appreciated to have these exchanged every now and then with you on interesting training matters. I don't blame you for selling your fat grips. I keep a pair in my gym bag along with fractional plates, a short gym pin and a few other small choice items ready to go in a pinch for the rare occasions I pop over into a public gym for a short stint. I find the fat grips okay for things like lat pulldowns but under par for realistic use under seriously partaken poundage profession as the poundage progresses. I find the feel of the genuine metal thick bars much more apt for purpose. Yes I agree, the longer plate loading pins on the powertec attachments are almost asking for trouble. I slightly buckled the frame on the leg extension going over 100kg (220lb) and as you say not to be recommended on the dip attachment either.. of course I did but the handles bugged me too much before I possibly broke the unit by pursuing greater poundage. Fair play for transferring your ideas over to powertec directly. I do get the sense that they are holding back the upgrades to get the most mileage from past and current models for future sales with upgraded lines and/or to keep current costs down. A clear indicator in my opinion was the band pegs being included in the 2020 lever gym yet not the 2020 multi system etc. The sale they have on may also be to clear the line for the next models? As well as the recently upgraded lat machine.. another piece you reviewed well! I guess we can only ponder as to what they do next and when. Thanks again mate.. keep up the good things.

Appreciate the shout-out dude. I agree, the daisy chains are a smoother set up than the various chain hook ups I did. Oddly enough, I now have about a dozen daisy chains in the gym for my daughter's Ninja Warrior stuff. So we borrow them occasionally for various things in the gym.

Absolutely. It’s wild how many uses a set of daisy chains can provide. I moved my Nautilus Pullover (the heaviest piece of equipment I’ve owned) by myself with a set of daisy chains and some carpet sliders - so if they can handle that, they might hold up and be safe enough for your daughter’s Ninja Warrior Training 🤓

Great to hear! Thanks so much and I’m glad it worked well for you. You can also try facing the other direction when pressing (Levergym Hacks 3) it changes the way the handle sits in your hand. do you know the ATX levergym? I dont know if is available in USA , but is essentialy like the powertec one, but you will notice that have the lever arms in the position like the multipress, so feels more natural for the push movements, they use a custom bar for squat movement to compensate height difference. Probably the powertec one is better for squat movements but the atx for bench pressing etc. They inlclude also their bench and i think is way better than powertec one in particular the old model bench.

5’9” I wear about 31” pants. I think the Leg Extension will fit you fine. The Multipress is a little high for your height; but you can add spacers on the floor. I think I show that in my Multipress review.

The only issue with your hacks that pisses me off is I end up not using half of my other gym equipment since buying the levergym lol. The squat and bench press rack I'm stripping down the levergym is much more comfortable I purchased the dumbell lift-off platforms for a rack for my grandson but you do tend to catch them especially with the 80s to 110 lb dumbells.

lol! I’ve always said, if I could only have one piece of equipment, it would be the Levergym 🤓 I’m sorry to hear that about the platforms, but it reinforces what I said in this video. I was getting ready to buy a stand-alone dumbbell unit then I saw the potential issues and knew I could come up with something better using what I had laying around.

@@HomeGymHacksandReviews I wish I would have seen these earlier but being old school ive always used free weights I've just received preacher attachment for grandson and leg extension for me ,I just wish I would have built the gym bigger. Cheers 😉

@@markgoss9150 this is the first I’ve heard of this happening. Were you going over 300 pounds? If not, did you buy new? If you bought new, I would contact Powertec and if it’s under warranty, get another one free. If it’s not under warranty, Powertec has a parts page on their website so you should be able to buy a replacement cable.

@HomeGymHacksandReviews had it for over 3 years, I have been cheeky at times and going to 350lbs on it but I was doing a cable shoulder press with 80kg and it just snapped :0! I'll check their website out :) going to get some daisy chains still

I contacted powetec just waiting on a response, I bought a stronger cable online, surprisingly hard to kind a cable with a ball at both ends, Can't wait to try the daisy chains exercises

Syedee has the same machine for 699.00..

Powertec is a better made machine with many more lever arm settings, thicker gauge steel, it comes with a bench and it has removable storage posts (good for lever arm rows). The price you gave is for the Syedee model without a bench. Also, the Powertec bench gives you the option to add 6 plate loaded machines.

Another amazing hack video for the leverage gym. You said you don’t have a power rack and I was wondering did you ever have one before and do you just prefer the leverage gym now for what it can do? Love the videos!

Thanks so much. I’ve had 3 Power Racks since my first home gym. However, my days of barbell training are behind me…especially barbell squats. Aside from dumbbells, almost all of my training is machine-based.
