Everyone complaining about Linus' little blurb in the beginning. Linus needs more subscribers to be able to keep his own business up and family, as he employs 5-6 persons and has a wife and kid. There isn't that big of a difference as his thing was at the end of videos and now it is in the beginning. Putting it in the front just tells newcomers that there are cool videos coming and that they should stick around to watch them. It is only a few seconds long guys so it can't be that annoying. It sure as hell lets me know what is coming up.

Actually the number is much lower than 99%. Closer to 45% last time I looked at it. We have seen an improvement in subscriber rates and views since we started doing the call-out this way.! It's unlikely to go away but I will try to keep adapting the style.

Anyone else getting increasingly pissed off that linus keeps hinting at a video that we should make sure we're subscribed for? I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand the reason why, but there are better ways to do it than by annoying the hundreds of thousands of subs you already have...

If you're subscribed to any of their other feeds, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram... They do that anyways. It's marketing, it brings in people, and it is a way to convince them to stay. Unfortunately it's still clunky in the method Linus is currently doing it, but so were their first videos, so it'll improve over time.

It's just marketing to gain viewers, if you've watched the WAN show Linus sometimes talks about things they've tried with the channel to gain viewers with varying degrees of success (i.e dual camera setup to increase professionalism). If it turns out after a month that it hasn't really made any difference in views or subs then he'll probably drop it. I'd be interested to hear if it does/doesn't though but that's probably the marketing major in me :P

I like how he hints at the next video. I've been a sub for awhile, and I like how I know what to look forward to. And it doesn't really annoy me, it takes 10 seconds and he provides 8 minutes worth of on topic content.
