@@TendouRei I'm not sure if you can buy just the body shell. You could try contacting them on the website and ask. Maybe they will replace yours. You may have to buy a new one, but eBay or second hand websites might offer cheaper options

The sound issue is what is called "Phase inversion" ..many games have mono sounds.. those wil play simultaneous on both speakers and because one of the speakers is doing an inverted sound-wave they will diminish each other.. i noticed this when putting a thumb over one speaker it sounded actually louder then both. By changing the polarity of one speaker they are back in phase!

I just received mine for $25, the speakers aren't that bad and the dpad too, I thought It needs some tinkering once it arrives but it's okay. I chose this instead of the 35xx since I've seen so many 35xx with broken screens on some groups. I just love this device, please make more v90 videos man ❤️

At first that "screen protector" did not bother me but when the seasons changed a huge bubble formed and would not go away. I just used a toothpick to remove the rubber covers without damaging them and removed the film. Much better now :)

It’s really good for the 2D era except for some SNES games that lag a little. 3D games on PlayStation are hit and miss. Really digging it for what it offers for 40 bucks. Especially arcade games 🕹

I took advantage of the Pocket Go Firmware Update for the Pow Kiddy V90. I Etched and Partitioned it with no problems. Works way better than Stock OS. I like Gameboy Color Rumble.

I’ve found that after a while of inactivity and going back to play it again, the battery starts to expand quite a bit, and gets to the point where I can’t fit the cover on, so replacement battery’s should definitely be used as well

That sounds like a major defect. I’ve never experienced that or anyone I know who has a Powkiddy V90. That sounds like it could be hazardous if it leaked or burst. Definitely dispose of that one

Yeah, it happened to me pretty recently, but the new battery is so much better, and has a much better battery life as well, so it worked for the best!

It’s not technically recommended, but with this device the normal polarity sounds bad, so switching one of them improves the sound by chance

No that would be way too much. It depends on the tape, I'd say start with 4 layers and work your way up until you have it the way you want it. You could try 10 layers but it might be too tight for the dpad. It's only like a mm thick

Most emulators should have an options menu to map the buttons to however you want. I’d try custom mapping/assigning them that way. I’ve only used the software available on that website only for the Powkiddy V90. Keep checking that site for updates

Well I returned mine just moments ago because the sound it makes when opening/closing was gone on the first day. This made the screen wobble when open or closed. Let me highlight this happened on the - first - day of use.

Never tried videos personally! I wonder if you could install VLC media player on there? I use that software and never have a problem in general, but I’ve never tried it on the V90

I know this is an extremely cheap device, but I feel like modding it somehow. That’s a good question. There are custom firmware’s from the community for this handheld which work better than the stock OS. I’m sure the video output would be fine. It might be more worth it just to get it exchanged or buy a new one haha there are lots of Instagram accounts of people who mod handhelds heavily like that too

You can also solder a vibration motor from and old cell phone, his place is marked in the board and the soldering points are there. I can see that the data connection to the USB port can be done BUT the leg in the CPU chip is so tiny that I can't do it!,. Finally add some stickers to make it look way better and feel sturdy

You likely have an updated version, compared to mine I used during the date I created the video. You would have to try and find an older version of it. Yours may have overall improvements though

I never had that issue. You may be pulling from the wrong folders, or you may need bios files for some systems. The few you have that are having errors I’d suggest researching those specifically on Reddit to see what you need for them

It’s been a long time since I updated the CFW, but I can do those things. If you’re having problems I’d say return it if you can. Did you use a new reliable micro sd card for the CFW or did you use the card that came with it?

I have links the the description for some good batteries. The one that comes with the system is pretty decent though. The speaker wires trick isn’t technically how to improve audio as a general rule of thumb, because it transitions the audio from ‘onset’ to ‘offset’ where both speakers are misaligned, but it works for this system because the onset manufactured sounds like the audio is being played out of a tin can lol

I should've seen this video first. I bought one and ended up returning due to loss of interest. On this updated firmware, do you still have to turn off the handheld in the menu and then physically turn it off? That was something that killed this for me.

Yeah you still have to do that, but if you hold the start button you can quickly shut the software off instead of navigating through the menus. I have a tips and tricks video I just released about it. You could check out the Myoo Mini + on AliExpress. That is a higher quality handheld, but is on sale for under $100 right now. Watch some KZbin reviews on it

Have a purple plus. Haven't used much yet, but I did play the kirbys Dreamland 2 colorized hack. Great handheld and left a better impression than I thought. I'm just a lover of these handhelds and had a chance at a cheap V90. I even got one of those data frog sf2000, just wish SNES ran better for it too. Unfortunately, I'm a little too deep in for handhelds of this caliber. Once I got an Odin, paired with an rg35xx or mini plus, it's a perfect match for retro gaming needs.

I just double checked, and you can use the same games for MAME that the ‘Arcade’ fba320 emulator is using. Just go into the MAME emulator and setup the roms directory to mnt/Roms/FBA and the list will load

I doubt it can handle much from the 3D era. Especially where PS1 can be hit and miss. There are some really good handhelds out there that can handle those but they are more expensive

Do you have the right disk selected? There may be disk 1 & disk 2, in my example I chose disk 2 and right clicked on the bottom where the main FAT storage was and clicked extend. I didn’t change any settings in the extend manger. Is it trying to extend the size to more than what your new storage card can actually hold? One option is to format your card and start the process over with writing the Powkiddy image then try partitioning again. I’ve noticed that it works a little different on different computers, so you could also try looking at a couple of other tutorials on KZbin to see if your screen looks any different compared to mine/theirs. I never had any issues with it or had to register/pay for anything. Also make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT 32

Hey I was using my SD card for something else for a bit. I just modified it back to the custom firmware installed in the video. And there’s a Doom Mods app on the third tab over on my menu (in the video you can see there are 4 tabs, it’s the second tab from the right) it has PC games in it and also a Doom Mods app

I would suggest using the upgraded files from the website featured in the video and your own Sandisk micro SD card, not the card that came with it
