The smartest way to get your hotm up and get cheap accessories is this: main pickonimbuses until hotm 6 where u get gemstone gauntlet. The thing is with pickonimbus is that its basically a waste in the hollows bc of how much stone u gotta mine for gemstones SOOOO just grind dwarven mines. +dwarven mine commissions give same amount of exp and are ussually faster. with gauntlet your either wanna gonna grind until divans drill or be a sweaty ash and get the x655 and the alloy. when u get divans drill u can make like 40m/hr. also if u cant get the magma fields pet (forgot its name) just get an armadillo its mad braindead for crystal hollows.

O yea also Armadillo pet is incredibly good for crystal hollows and really cheap. You can break all gemstones if you hold any pickaxe and ride the armadillo into the gemstone. Being able to insta-break gemstones is rly good

Gemstone Gauntlet is very worth it, yes. But as IgnoringAce mentioned, you need Hot Mom 6 to use it. I'll go over how to grind Hot Mom as quickly as possible in part 2, but in short it's by spamming commissions. So I'd focus on that first if I were you. Yog armor actually has 80 more mining speed then sorrow when maxed. Sorrow has 140 more mining fortune when completely maxed though.

Who tf has maxed yog (unless you are mad and play too muh and still have yog armour) and it would cost more to get a maxed yog then get a sorrow armour so yeah doesnt matter

for me i dont think divan armor is really usefull unless u wanna go for the most maxed setup ever , since it cost at least 65 mil + to be as the same as sorrow , and over 130 mil for the complete piece ( so its almost 600 mil for the whole armor ) and sorrow is way cheaper ( only around 50 mil for the whole armor , and has pristine and decent stats ) ( cuz divan only gives 40 extra mining fortune and 120 speed + 1 amber and jade gemstone so for 110 mil extra its kinda a scam , even quick claw is better for stats / cost lol )

From what I've heard and seen the gemstone gauntlet's is bugged and slower than it should be on crystals. The gemstone gauntlet definitely still is a good choice, but the jasper drill might be similar. Idk how bugged the gauntlet actually is.

I am pretty sure that got patched a long time ago. Jasper Drill cannot fit Topaz, so no it's not good.

@@Powliner Mining fortune is applied to flawed gemstones after the pristine proc, meaning if you have 1000 mining fortune you'll get around 10x gems every proc but with 500 mining fortune thats around 5x. I think your overating gauntlet a little bit because mining fortune is almost as important as pristine and it doesn't have any. If you're hotm7 and spent 10+ hours powder grinding then yeah gauntlet is way better because the percent increase in mining fortune you would get from jasper drill is much lower, but otherwise I think its a much better option than you think. Tldr: mining fortune is underrated

You recommend Bal pet which is best in magma fields, but Sorrow doesn't have any protection from the heat mechanic, right? So wouldn't you put Yog at the same tier as Sorrow, given you're mining in the magma fields? And what pet would outclasses Bal outside of magma fields?

Bal gives Heat immunity. Scatha would outclass Bal outside Magma Fields, but it's way too expensive. Mithril Golem is also better than Bal, but only if you are mining Mithril of course.
