IMO issue with Iana is that rounds usually dont last long enough to get enough uses out of your clones instead of just learning how to drone correctly without getting them destroyed. Hell, usually you don't even have enough time to drone before it's suddenly a 2v5. Brava or Flores are better in my experience because of the added utility while being able to use them as semi-drones. Smoke is definitely a great pick though, he even got stronger this season because of the shield rework.

5:25 Most players, especially on console, can’t control the recoil that the SMG has. That’s why we chose lesion. Great ability, great gun, and had the super shorty (best gun in game obviously jk)

I consider Iana the second best solo queue operator behind Buck. Buck it’s just the best because he is very versatile. He can play vertically, he has a very good gun, and he is what I call a “secondary breacher” which allows you to open your way into the site without the help of your teammates (+ his ability allows you to do this same thing but with soft walls). I personally like to play Ace, Nomad or Iana over him but I think he is still the best. Ik it sounds contradictory but that decision is just purely related to the gun.

Idk thatcher is goated but I have been playing a lot of finka she can basically heal 300 hp so I'd say like ace, buck, thatcher, iana, finka, lion, osa, gridlock are some good attackers defense I'd say lesion, maestro, smoke, mute, kapkan, Valkirye, tubarao, kaid, aruni, and melusi are some good ones. Note: I put operators I think bring support too the whole team without interfering with others gameplay solis is good so is azami but I feel like they don't really help the team that much in a solo q environment

i have been really enjoying castle with the shotgun secondary to set up some really cheeky angles and such. plus i like how he has a nice primary and 6 barricades. definitely an op that works better with atleast 1 friend

Iana is nice but the intel you get from drones is good enough imo if you play smart. If you really need more info then run Zero instead bc you can not only destroy utility with his argus cams but he also has a much better gun than the G36 or ARX. Plus he gets hard breach and a Gonne-6. As for Smoke, he's good but he got nerfed bc of the laser change and the shotgun just doesn't hit as hard anymore (probably a skill issue on my end). His gadget is also kinda situational and if you die then his utility is gone. If you want to slow down the attackers then run Lesion and place the Gu mines far away and slowly move them closer into site so you can hear when they pass different "checkpoints". This also gives info to the randos and they're more likely to swing since theu know for a fact someone is there and we all know how much randos love to swing. Plus if you die your Gu mines are all still there. As a solo q player you not only have to get kills but also augment your team mates whether they play off of you/your actions or not.

I would agree that Iana is the best attacking op... but I've gotta go with Lesion for best defender. I've been in too many situations where Blitz rushes and I was able to throw impacts or even throwing down a gue trap right in front of the Blitz and often times they reroute or if they step in it they might turn around in the heat of the moment and its a free kill. Smoke is a close 2nd in my opinion but I'm on console so different lobbies doing different things but its all good brother!

For me personally "the best" attacking operator is Nomad, I always solo q and watching flanks and keeping track of roamers without consistent comms is nearly impossible. If I'm not on Nomad I feel like I'm giga paranoid constantly watching flanks lol

You have a point, but Buck is just so good, infinite soft breach plus hard breaches in the pocket if you need them. Zofia is slept on a lot, you play entry and you have ranged breach plus the disorients for the push. Smoke is ok but I think he's even better with teamwork, someone like Mute, Azami and Lesion can be played almost entirely by yourself where you can either stall for time or block entries altogether. Aruni is also super broken for the defenders. The defenders are really spoiled for choice whereas the attackers are struggling with that solo play operator imo, zero and buck both have those pocket hard breaches which are super handy, as well as letting you through both soft walls and things like castle barricades if your team can't or won't open them for you.

Is it just me or are shotguns not hitting I keep getting really bad damage with smoke shotgun I know the laser nerf was a lot to shotguns but they just feel kinda bad now
