Only reason to prefer a PJ over this would be if you want to do the solo bridge Jaco thing I guess. But if you're that into that stuff, you're probably going to want a straight jazz bass anyway right? This on the other hand has really usable blended tones, which a PJ just doesn't imo

So much more of a full bodied sound imo. The J has an overall thinner scoop in comparison in all settings. I love this PP setup so much

I love that Jazz bass squonk and bite though. The P tone is more useful in a lot of musical settings though for sure!

definitely room for another Pickup at the neck so you can PPP all day (for the record I never use the tone control so 3 volumes is fine)

Series, that's the standard humbucking wiring of split coil pickups
