Hello Jesse. I really like this project of yours. Id really like to know what your reduction ratio is. looks around 2:1 or 2.5:1 from the looks of it. Also what is the diameter of that GSC prop your running? what is the engines RPM at max throttle? Sorry for all the questions, but im thinking of building one myself with the 420cc gx390 clone engine and this info would really be useful to me. I plan on using 6061T6 aluminum for the trike to save a little weight. any engine mods? Thanks

Was going to use a gx200 but now decided on a gx390 with a trike. Luv your project, great inspiration. How did you modify to up the hp?

It was a 13hp modified to 30hp.

I love your build. You're an "overbuilder" like me. My projects don't just fall apart. Good job. Be smart. I would like to say one thing though. All those washers in your motor mounts are not such a great idea. It looks like an afterthought. Maybe use short sections of tubing. I can't wait to see the end result.

USA 101 thanks for the kind words. The washers were indeed an afterthought, but if you'll read the description you'll see that this trike no longer exists. It was a good R&D project & it got scrapped when I was done.

Did you mill out that complete setup?
@ringgo1star8 жыл бұрын
the only thing that was milled out was the aluminum piece where the prop bolts to, the large pulley is an "off-the-shelf" item.

Any suggestions on how to build your own? I'm upgrading the Rotax 582 on my airboat with a Yamaha RX1 motor more than doubling the HP. Not sure yet on how I'm going to do the redrive/gearbox.

AlaskanOutdoorsman I just got done building a PPC with the RX1 engine. Email me for more info. Ringgo1star@yahoo.com.

why do you need a reduction drive? I dont understand the point. im about to build a yz125 paramotor without a reduction drive
@ringgo1star7 жыл бұрын
matthew lee we need a Re-drive for the same reason vehicles need gears...... without a Re-drive the motor will only be able to spin a small prop very fast which is not good. you need to spin a bigger prop slower & it makes more thrust. You lose rpms at the prop with a redrive, but gain torque which is what you need. Just start doing some good research on paramotors and see how many are running direct drive & how many are using a -belt Re-drive or gearbox. You'll find your answer in that search.

I need a reduction drive just like the one in your video . I have a horizontal shaft predictor 420cc engine (1 inch shaft ). can you tell me how to make one similar to that one ? but Id like one that is only bolted to the engine. but could make do with one like that . but I would not like to have the clutch I don't think. but that no big deal. I know a company that makes them for my engine but I can't afford it. I'm hoping I can make or get one cheaper . any ideas ? thank you
