I'm also 40. I don't know what part of the country you're in but I can say that we did experience the end of the very best music ever to be made as others here have pointed out. Yes, there's been good stuff made that I like but nothing will ever come close to 1999-2002/3 time period. I'm from Dsllas/Fort Worth, Texas but was away in Central Florida for college. Daytona Beach, Orlando, spring breaks down in Miami & Key West. We all had our own individual experiences during this time period and from my perspective, nothing and nowhere could ever compare to Florida during this time. But what I find amazing is that no matter who we all are, no matter where we were, the music ties us all together. For any who didn't live it, they'll never know it. And it can never be simulated. When i started listening to this mix i was in my living room, 2 tunes in it was dark there was lasers, lights, lights that shone wider showing a haze across the room my eyes widen to thousands of people all as one feeling the music , everyone with the same look , we all believe the same thing , reality is far away , we're in wonderland, the atmosphere building and the with the rifts of trance higher and higher , feeling intensity as you rise above your body , floating , free , inside the eternal light , as the beat kicks bass drum , back down in the room , back in the middle of the dance floor , everyone moving together in time , your dreams feel real and reality is fake , this is where we all belong
