If you study a 2-yr diploma and work 1-yr to qualify for PR, you will have 1-yr of physical presence. All you need is 2 more years of physical presence under PR, you can apply for Canadian citizenship. Canada allows multiple passports. India does not allow holding multiple passports.

You need to perform physical presence calculator (total = 3 years). Your pre-PR days can be counted as 0.5 days. You need a minimum of 2-yr under PR before applying for Canadian citizenship. Citizenship approval will take a while.
